re: Anyone check the price of oil lately? Low $60's and falling. It's almost too low.

I know for a fact that the refineries in Louisiana have been running at well under capacity since COVID.

Oh no, now whining that gas will be too cheap!
Is there anything you pricks won’t whine about?
I'm not complaining. It's just not too good for the Gulf Coast if it drops any more.

It needs to stop dropping. This is low enough.
It might help mitigate tariff inflation which
And I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I wouldn't be surprised if the OPEC+ nations are colluding with us on this effort at this point

My comment specifically had nothing to do with Trump. Move along.
His comment only referenced Trump's first term as a time frame. The substance was the booming oilfield amidst low oil prices. Try to keep up.

Billy Bob Thornton told me it's all good as long as it's between $65 and $90 a barrel.

I know for a fact the 2 largest are running to max crude rates.

drop in demand lowers prices more than an increase in production. Hopefully we use this cheap oil to restock our strategic reserves after Biden drew them down for short term political gain

Almost too low lol damn, you people will find the dumbest and lamest shite to bitch about
Tigerdroppings is Louisiana people at its core, many of whom work in or have customers in the O&G biz. Saving $10 at the pump obviously isn’t going to excite them
Regardless, oil price has never been fully controlled by the free market. The recent drop was in large part because OPEC said they wouldn’t curtail production.

Also imported eggs to fill the gap while domestic flocks get rebuilt
Trump leads. Biden did whatever his handlers told him to do

It would be a good idea to restock the reserves at these prices.

Oil keeps dropping, but gas has gone up 30 cents in a few weeks.

Just paid $4.10. This is in Commie WA. State. They want to add another 9 cent gal tax in the latest budget. We are soon going to be Calif fuel prices.

Oh dear lord, another rube 5 minutes on google will save you some embarassment.
Here's some googling for you:
quote:
Are US refineries running at full capacity?
US Utilization of Refinery Capacity is at 86.00%, compared to 87.00% last week and 88.70% last year. This is lower than the long term average of 89.63%.

And did you know, we can sell crude oil, unrefined (~ 4M barrels per day...)?

Are you even capable of embarrassment, or acknowledging you are wrong?

If by "colluding" you mean Trump calling Mohamad Bin Salam and saying, "hey buddy, can you open the spigots a little more". You are correct.

It takes a minute in the article but they finally get to the real reason Saudi Arabia upped oil production.
quote:
Some sources inside the producers' group said the Thursday decision was driven by much wider geopolitical reasons than just a desire to punish cheaters.
Announced on the same day with U.S. tariffs, the oil hike decision might help Saudi Arabia and Russia to foster relations with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump has been calling for lower oil prices just as tariffs are expected to accelerate inflation. He also wants to cut Iranian oil exports to zero to accelerate talks over Tehran's nuclear programme.

around 45$ is when the drillers get nervous.....so, yes, we are getting close.
