Personally I can only think of one recent mass shooting where a Glock 17 wouldn't have been as deadly as an AR. But saying the damage done at this high school couldn't have been done with any other weapon is crazy talk.

Shotgun with buckshot, pair of semi-automatic 9mm handguns, an AWB compliant Mini-14...all could, and have, resulted in shoitings with higher death tolls. People dead set against the AR-type rifles conveniently forget this fact. They don't care either, they only care about the talking points they are parroting.

Should all be banned let’s not stop at the ArmaLite 15.

Handgun, rifle, shotgun fine. That should be the limit of the 2A.

quote:

In United States v. Miller (1939), the Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment did not protect weapon types not having a "reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia

Missles, hand grenades and rockets do not fit this definition. Neither should ArmaLite 15s and those arms banned under the assault weapons ban of the late 90s

News flash: if the Us Govt decided to arrest us all for whoever reason and put us in camps there is NOTHING any of you with AR-15s can do about it. The night of the military is unmatched and your excuse that you need these weapons to fend off the possible trannny of the Govt is a ruse.

Civilians do not “Need” these weapons.

Why is it such a pressing issue to ban a weapon that kills a fraction of the 350ish total murders per year committed with rifles but there is zero thought given to banning the pistol? A weapon that kills over 7,000 people per year

The reason is the Ar15 is the single most popular platform. If they can ban the ar15, that sets a standard to ban or restrict other weapons. If they can ban a gun where around 10 million people shoot a year that has less than 400 homicides versus a semi auto pistol with thousands then it's an easy win for them at that point. They'll say you can still own a revolver which still has an unfovarable ownership versus homicide rate.

The goal they have is to restrict firearms to the point Americans can't afford or have the credentials to get one. In New York city it can take a good 9 months to buy a simple pistol that can't hold more than 7 rounds and be a costly process and cause people to give up.

One thing they always want banned is standard magazines and tell us 10 rounds is all you need to protect yourself from criminals which are the same people cops will deal with except cops have larger magazine.

What type of handgun is fine?

What is an AR-15? A Mini-14?

shotgun

Give me a shotgun with buckshot in an enclosed space and I'll kill more people faster than an AR-15.

Of course if you actually were knowledgeable about firearms you'd know this.

You realize that you are comparing AR15 to explosives and the “assault weapon” ban from the 90’s didn’t ban AR15’s — they were allowed just restricted what modifications you could make to them.

Eh technicalities. I’d go even further and propose a gun ownership list, mandatory psych evaluation, and mandatory classes before a purchase. Would also support mandatory safety classes annually and also psych re-evaluation once very 18 months or so to maintain access.

You obviously aren't a weapons expert so who are you to tell civilians what they need and feel comfortable protecting their family with?

Because he's smarter than you and better understands how you should live your life. And more importantly, he cares.

Why don't you care about children dying to military grade machines?
