Anti AR15 people: How is the AR15 functionally different than any other semiauto rifle?

There is zero difference. Both are semi automatic and some have just as many or higher capacity than an AR 15.

I’ll expain it the way I do to a non gun person. People are upset that fast cars are being driven into crowds of people at 100 mph. So the solution is to ban the BMW because it can go fast. Nevermind that my ford truck, ford car, or Porsche car, or Mercedes can go 100 mph and many other cars are more powerful than a BMW. It does not matter. The solution is to ban the BMW. The BMW is an AR 15 in the gun world.

Tried having this discussion rationally, with people I know that are normally rational, and they quickly devolved into irrational. When they have no real argument, it gets ugly real fast.

When pressed on which guns would be okay, I was told, "none that are deadly"; "only those that shoot a single bullet", and "all guns should be banned".
