I have yet to see any pollster ask a question about the debates to see what public support is for or against it.
I fervently believed the debates would be held. Now I'm starting to think the seeds are being planted to have Biden skip them.

Well, that really depends on what your definition of 'the' is...
But seriously Hilarious coming from Clinton camp. And not unexpected. I just don't see a scenario where debates do anything but put Biden's poor mental condition on display. Therefore; they won't let them happen.

I seem to remember hearing the Biden campaign was pushing for a real time fact checker at the debate and the Trump campaign was pushing back. Regardless what you think of the two candidates, I think this is a savvy political play by the Biden campaign. If Trump refuses, they use that as a cudgel against him and a possible reason not to debate.
The bigger risk is if he says yes because Biden is not above misstated facts.

When was the last time it never happened?
I know Kennedy and Nixon was the first on air but presidential debates have always happened. It would be unprecedented if it did not happen.

My question is why did you believe that?
So if you actually believe Biden was in the early stages of dementia, which I do, than you would believe there would not be a debate.
A debate against a person in the early stages of dementia would be a sad thing to watch.
Since I honestly think Biden is in the early stages of this crippling disease, I believed the debate would not be held.
It's rather sad honestly. Biden by all accounts was a pretty decent guy. Look, he's been in government for decades and is one of a few congressmen who have been in office that long and are not rich.
But they keep trying him out there in carefully crafted events. They are lucky there is covid our it would be next to impossible to pull off.
