Not in the federal system, there is no more parole. On a one year sentence you can expect to do just over 10 months with good time credit.
The series producers need to be looking for replacement talents, and alternate story lines.

Whether or not we think jail time is warranted in this case or not, if she is found guilty, the system has to give her serious jail time under the current law. If she doesn't do time, this will open the flood gates of high profile celebrities committing this type of offense routinely. Unfortunately, they might have to make an example out of her if found guilty. Sucks for her, but don't break the law.

Which is why i support sending her arse to jail if found guilty.

Any conservative or MAGA patriot rooting for her to serve real time is an a-hole.
They are being thrown to the wolves to placate racist minorities and liberals who hold them as an effigy for white privilege.

I actually thought, at one time, that Lori Loughlin might be one of the rare humble and nice people in Hollywood. "Fool me once.....
PS - I still don't know how she pronounces her last name (Locklin?)

She IS.
Everyone does this type of shite - she was told it would be okay. All she wanted was her daughter to get into a decent college. this was a victimless crime.

Absolutely true. I played golf with a federal prosecutor a few months back. He basically said that they only pursue the case if they know they can get a conviction.

she was given the chance to plead guilty and get a slap on the wrist, like Huffman. she said no and lost that chance

Morally disgusting, but legally could be a little gray area for the parents.
1) I’m going to go out on a limb here. No matter how “grey” the area may be in the eyes of the client, the attorneys know better. Their lawyers are probably very high priced and experienced in the way the Federal judicial system works. So I don’t buy for one second that when faced with facts and circumstances like this that their lawyers didn’t advise them to take the plea and move on with their lives. The lawyers know the conviction rate of actually going to trial. They also know that a conviction means that real jail time is likely because the client was now found guilty and the client has just wasted the precious time of the prosecutors and judge.
2) No matter how “grey,” you don’t want to die on that hill. Take your medicine and move on.
I dunno I personally think she gets off. The USC recruiting poster that came out a few months ago certainly helps their case and the recently uncovered e-mails for USC top officials asking for money in exchange for favorable treatment also helps their case big time. There is evidence out there that USC was soliciting fund for placement. If that is shown in court they will walk.

all this will do is get a few USC employees indicted. it doesn't show that she's innocent

On top of that, USC is a private school. Why the hell does the federal government care?

This is so ridiculous IMO. Throwing her in jail for writing a fat check to a school to make sure her kid gets in.
So writing the check, or paying cash, to the hitman to off your spouse shouldn't be a jailable offense? You sound like a leftist with no scruples.

The feds still provide funding, financial aid and the whole "mail and wire fraud" stuff.

Judges don’t like having their time wasted of a trial that really should not have gone forward.

I think Winston is closer to the truth here than you are.
She shouldn't face severe jail time.
