I know, anecdotes aren't evidence, but in the face of bullshite from all angles anecdotes gain relevance.

Relative of family friend, typical COVID patient. Early 50's, diabetes, not sure about shot status because I didn't ask.

Gets COVID, ends up in hospital relatively quickly.

Things go south, doctor pronounces he "Has about 5 days before he likely succumbs to the virus."

Wife gets desperate, asks doctor if he can prescribe ivermectin.

DR !laughs! and says "It's too late, sorry it won't help him, I'm not prescribing it."

Wife reaches out to all her acquaintances for help and finds another local DR willing to prescribe within 2 days.

That was 5 days ago. He is now scheduled to be released from the hospital this week.

I'm not jumping to conclusions, but this cat was deemed on his last days and ivermectin helped him pull it out. How the frick could the original DR not even try?

Muh, science I guess?

I like to think I'm down with science but I'm also willing to try to anything to save a person's life. I don't care who they are or what my position is. I thought doctors were supposed to do that shite.

If someone has a week to live, wouldn’t you throw the kitchen sink at them to help them?

I’ve heard the same, people are just sitting around with no real plan of treatment.

Because the original doctor is an idiot and more concerned with his ego than his patients' well being.

Or just maybe this story isn't fully true, lol.

Or perhaps not as true as OP would like to think. This wasn't a first hand account, this was through a few layers of story telling. Who know what actually happened with the Dr. and patient.

Heard that one of Louisiana's foremost doctors said there was no need to take Ivermectin unless you have worms, LOL!?!?!?! Well I've got a stash of it now and don't care what some of these quacks say.

I thought about that this morning. My understanding that the doctor and patient have to be on the same page.

Here’s the thing, what science is this? This term gets tossed around all the time because it is ubiquitous and hard to hammer down someone for being wrong. It’s done as a cop out! It’s very frustrating because the “science” on every aspect of Covid and the vaccines has been changed and politicized.

Of course you don't have to believe it, but it's legit.

The close friend of ours who this impacted was consumed by it; she was on the verge of becoming a covid-enthusiast because of how rapid the guy's decline was.

Maybe the original dr was just wrong, maybe the meds worked.

No doctor said that

Anyone who has treated covid these people can go from relatively stable to dying in a couple of hours

I agree that he should have at least tried it. It costs a couple bucks and has virtually no side effects. Why the frick not??

That's part of the problem. There's claims of no room in hospitals but when that's the case people are being sent home and told to treat their symptoms. That's it. Why not send them to get the monoclonal antibody treatment, or at least prescribe Ivermectin or HCQ while sitting at home hoping it doesn't get worse? I believe the legal term for that is called dumping patients.
