Jones went too far and deserved corrective action.
Unfortunately that corrective action was far out of proportion to what it should have been.

this is what happens when you believe too many influencers and think they are real people. They arent. Theyre capitalizing on the angst of others.
What truth, that Jones has problems. Of course, he does but the main fact is that his penalty does not fit the "crime" and this is an effort to silence him for his political and social views. Any you celebrate this. That has far deeper ramifications than a drunk guy spreading non truths on the internet.
It's more important to fight for speech you don't like than for speech you agree with, this is the basic tenet of our entire freedom. If not, we are authoritarian

You do realize this us pure opinion, based on what others are saying, right?
Because objectively youre wrong. There is no amount to account for the damage this dipshit caused those peoples reputations.
These MAGA bitches are still claiming the parents are in the wrong.

1. What Alex Jones did to those families was reprehensible. He didn't wait several years after the fact, he started his conspiracy theories while their grief was still raw resulting in a few of his rabid followers saying and doing unspeakable things like urinating on the Graves.
2. Plaintiffs win awards for mental anguish all the time and the Sandy Hook families were deserving of damages. He caused them undue pain and anguish
3. The jury award was totally unreasonable. It was an emotional response driven in part by politics. The judge should not have allowed $1 billion in damages to stand.
4. Some of you guys are trying too hard to defend Jones at every turn. It's ok to agree that the judgement was too harsh and still agree that what he did was indefensible.

The onion's bid wasn't even cash. Their bid was the promise of future lawsuits against AJ. Pretty sickening.
Left wing entities have absolutely no moral guiding principles other than power and destroying who they perceived to be their enemies. Its a big reason why they're so miserable as every inch of living life is a contest for power in their world.

It's misplaced blamed and a horrible precedent, the 965 million judgement was absurd and looks every bit of a political hit job. I will never celebrate that, not against my greatest enemy.
Adam Lanza murdered those kids and a drunk guy took the fall. And you cheer because Muh Maga

He did everything they said he did, but they'll never get 1.5b from him.
Hopefully he learned his lesson about dragging other peoples dead children through the streets.

As always happens, the leftists overplayed their hands. The "Sandy Hook families" who are trying to ruin Alex Jones have outed themselves as nothing but bitter partisans who are using their dead children for political purposes...just like what they claimed Alex Jones was doing.

Isn't that exactly what they're doing now?

If Laken rileys family sued their county for bringing in that murderer and were awarded 100m dollars, most here would celebrate it.

That's hardly "finding out" on their part. If they don't get the money is that "finding out" for them?

Not really. Theyre just dragging the dead reputation of this fat grifter through the streets.
And yall dont like it.

Are the families really involved directly anymore now that it's in bankruptcy?

Considering how the bid was comprised? Yes.
They were going to waive some or part of the judgment against AJ as a cash equivalent in the bid, which the trustee used to justify “which bid would make owed individuals more whole?”

Well, his treatment of the Sandy Hook families was objectively horrible.
Jones is a piece of shite, and he definitely "made his bed" so to speak, but that doesn't mean laws and procedures get to be ignored in response. If all of this is supposed to be "in the best interest of the families", then they failed. Exposing those families to litigation through shady and/or illegal dealings is not in their best interests.
Jones is shitty and The Onion is shitty in this case.

Nah - he hasn't done anything but file a Motion.
The Trustee is going to win unless there is some procedural misstep he took. Creditors are going to get more from the Onion's bid, and the Trustee's job is to get the most for the creditors.
