The best way to put it, even if it not 100% accurate, is that the Sandy Hook people are trading the full amount they would receive from the sale of infowars assets for equity in the future company. That is not unusual at all. In fac, the system encourages it because they want the creditors to get the most they can possibly get.

The Onion owning Infowars reduces Infowars value to nearly zero. They aren’t getting equity in the Onion.

It’s a bad trade from a monetary standpoint for the families. It’s based on their desire to prevent Jones from starting over. Welcome to the legal system.

According to the people who own the Onion the Infowars assets do have value and they will capitalize on it. The Trustee, and the Court really don;t care if that is true or not. The families also agreed with the Onion, so the "bad trade" for them argument does not hold merit, they are voluntarily agreeing to it. And the other creditors - the ones that have not agreed to take proceeds from the future company - will get paid more with the Onion's offer.

So, it seems clear why the Trustee chose the Onion's offer and not Jones' offer.

But the Onion is lying to the families and you likely understand that. If the families are ok with getting zero dollars from the sale, that’s interesting. But did the court violate procedure to take a lower bid? That’s the real question.

He learned that he isn't the mainstream media, who can run with shite like Russian collusion, and piss tapes, and just about any story they would like, and propagate these lies for years with absolutely no consequences for Hillary, the DNC, the FISA judge, the FBI, or anyone downstream of their fabrication.

I don't give a shite about Jones. But I do give a shite about justice, and the award that was given is judicial overreach.

Jones would've been penalized a small fraction of that had he killed those kids himself in a drunken car wreck.

I hope he wins, the Billion-dollar judgement was ludicrous and should be rectified in some nature. It is lawfare censorship

This is right.

Even offensive speech must be protected.

Roger is one of many who have adopted the concept that people need to be protected by government from being offended.

You think massive lawsuits over speech are conservative?

You think judicial overreach to purposefully bankrupt media outlets you don't like is conservative?

You think rigged bankruptcy auctions to benefit a preferred side are conservative?

There is NOTHING conservative about this lawsuit, verdict or award.

You're letting your feelings get in the way of rationality.

Unfortunately that corrective action was far out of proportion to what it should have been.

I suppose this depends on the perspective.

This is 1984 doublespeak.

You just spoke to silencing him them lawfare. This is a corrupt judicial system doing the bidding for his political opponents in a politically hostile area. But of course, I've learned all I need to know about you

Is it the use of the courts (government) that's the progressive part?
