We had Bobby Jindal, he was so conservative he did whatever to not raise taxes, including fricking the state over. So there is that.

Did you look up how many blacks are in Texas and Virginia ?

You do realize that a large sector of whites are putting in the top ranked officials right?

The truth cuts both ways, who cares about the plebians when you have WHITE politicuans with the real power.

For the record, good governance is the most important aspect to run a state. Ever assumed that maybe your politicians want you to keep that reasoning.

Makes it easier for the Edwards , Jindals, and Landrieus to take advantage of "pro-business" states to take advantage of all of us.

Using that logic, as the state is run by conservatives who all want/do cut government services/benefits, they SHOULD be less impoverished than that national average, no?

I would challenge you to find a republican office holder in the counties and cities in question. Selma is 80% minority. You think their local government is conservative?

Alabama has a GDP per capita of $40,911

Not sure what that has to do with the posted article. The problem in Alabama, and in many other states, is the disparity between the impoverished and middle and upper classes. The classic have and have-not situation.

It's by design. The haves aren't willing to give up any of their trappings in life to make the lives of the impoverished any better. They mostly just ignore and stick their head in the sand to the conditions so many impoverished live in, and instead vilify and demean them that they deserve their lot in life because of decisions they've made in their life.

This statement is patently false! You obviously have no clue what the hell you are talking about and have drank so much liberal Koolaid that you have a twisted vision of reality!

What is false about it? I grew up poor, so maybe my view is clouded a bit. So please enlighten me.

That entire statement is untrue because you basically lump all the “haves” into a group of uncaring individuals that do nothing to help the “have nots”. Do need to give personal examples from my community in Mississippi to prove you wrong or are you going to stand by this bull shite stereotyping?

Trying to blame one governor is nothing more than a bs talking point. The underlying issues that are the major drivers of systemic poverty go back decades, and democrats with tax and spend policies have been in charge for the vast majority of decades.
