Alabama is a whole nother world from the prosperous California Republic, which alone sports the world's 7th largest economy, and a $7 BILLION surplus.

Alabama deserves better. It's time y'all find a dynamic, enterprising young-at-heart governor like Jerry Brown.

Everybody knows that Dems are all pro-American, pro-family, pro-business.

I got wild honey trees and crazy little weeds, growing around my shack.

These dusty roads ain't streets of golds, but I'm happy right where I'm at.

Really, I live in a shack. I make maybe $800 a year but varmints give me sustenance.

In Mississippi the area’s that known as poverty stricken are all lead by Democrats. Look at the Delta which is run by Bennie Thompson’s political machine. There is plenty of pork belly going in up there and not much to show for it....wonder where it really is going? Then look at Jackson. You have a classic example of reverse racism that led to white flight similar to what happened in Memphis several decades ago. Basically, the Democratic control city government keeps hiring unqualified “buddies” and running the city into the ground while their tax base has fled to Ridgeland and Madison. Until they stop listening to their Pastors and decide to elect the best qualified, regardless of color, the problems will not be solved. But funny these issues don’t plague Tupelo, Oxford, Madison, Hattiesburg and Ocean Springs....I really cant put my finger on what the common denominator is with them?

Alabama has a GDP per capita of $40,911 That puts it above the UK, Spain, France, New Zealand, Italy, S.Korea, and Greece.
I've spent a good amount of time in four of those seven countries (UK, France, Italy, ROK). They're all much better than Alabama. The other three probably are, too, but I can't speak from experience.

Parts of those countries are certainly better than Alabama. I'd certainly rather live in San Sebastian than I had Demopolis, but I'd rather live in Shoals Creek than Cangas del Narcea.

People from Alabama think bitcoin is the mark of the beast...so...not surprising the state has issues.

Kiss my arse, I'm making a killing.

ETA: I retract that statement, I am dirt poor and live with open sewage nearby.

Look at you being fancy. I meant taken as a whole. There are parts of Tegucigalpa that are better than parts of Greenwich. And parts of Seattle that are worse than parts of Detroit. And on and on.

I meant that as a whole those nations, though considerably more complicated than one U.S. province, were better.

I'd agree for Italy and Spain. Not so much for the UK. Never been to Korea, so I can't say.

You're always a good sport on here. Why don't you do something to try to elevate the miserable sumbitches in your home state?

Let me assure you...many if not most of the areas they are referencing would not be a Trump voting area. You just want to make an ignorant arse comment to sound clever but you're not.

let me assure you that welfare is common in rural communities (which are areas where trump is overwhelmingly supported)

It's in consideration. I'm pretty sure I can get in some position of influence if I want to, but I'd have to play ball, and I don't know that I want to do that.

Look. Give up the uh, substances, and commit to being a square. It's honestly not that bad. You can always drink.
