Wonder if he's done a tour of Girls of the West.

Kathryn Tucker Windham was a Saint. The movie about her life, Story of Teller, was amazing.

You do realize that Arkansas was majority democrat until the 21st century right?

Using that logic, as the state is run by conservatives who all want/do cut government services/benefits, they SHOULD be less impoverished than that national average, no?

Your argument would seem to suggest that the less government is involved (as is the case in Alabama compared to other states), the better economic and sanitary conditions in the state.

I love how you can catch some conservatives in their own net.

Let me assure you...many if not most of the areas they are referencing would not be a Trump voting area. You just want to make an ignorant arse comment to sound clever but you're not.

Pretty lazy journalism here. There are parts of Detroit that look like Fukushima.

These places exist everywhere.

Alabama has had a republican governor for 23 out of the past 143 years, Arkansas has out a republican governor for 15 years out of the past 143 years, Louisiana has had a republican governor for 20 years out of the past 143 years, and Mississippi has had a republican governor for 21 years out of the past 143 years. Republicans didn't gain control of the Alabama legislature until 2010, Arkansas legislature until 2013, Louisiana legislature until 2012, and the Mississippi legislature until 2012.

That means that republicans have total control of those states less than 5 years out of the past 143 years. Trying to blame the poverty problems of those states on republicans is not going to work, because the roots of those problems go back decades and the democrats are the ones to blame for that.

Small minded Pbhog getting owned with facts as usual.

I'll bet you good money that "unsanitary" conditions are Democrat counties. Wanna take it?

Mississippi 37% black
Louisiana 37% black
Alabama 26% black

That has a lot to do with why those states are among the poorest states.

That puts it above the UK, Spain, France, New Zealand, Italy, S.Korea, and Greece.

further shows that we have an underclass problem in the US (especially the South)

Economic inequality and racial discrimination have also been linked with civil rights abuses, particularly in Alabama and other states across the South. Police shootings of unarmed black men and women are also of deep concern to the U.N.
