They really need to save face and disqualify this clown, even if it guarantees a win for Jones. The term is only for a year anyway.

innocent until proven guilty be damned...if you are simply accused that is enough for you to be found guilty and/or disqualifies you...

No, they're not.

You make a good point. Trump should be replaced also. (No one has accused Trump of feeling up under age girls, just ordinary sexual assault.)

What makes the circumstances "extraordinary"? Because you don't like him??

Section 17-17-13

this guy has been a joke since day 1. You realize he's never finished a term in any office he's held? He's a grandstander and an embarrassment to the state.
Yet, Alabama failed to produce a single solitary candidate capable of making that case. Not one.

Now you suggest one of those other political incompetents be given a US Senate seat?
Really?

As you say, this is a one-year seat. If Moore wins, he wins.

Couldn't you just vote for Moore, and if he wins and this is proven true the governor can name his replacement?

Don't you see what a dangerous precedent that creates?

Yes, and I've already considered that. But I also considered this has been happened for a while now. Hermain Caine, Trump, and I'm sure many more but that's just off the top of my head. Caine stepped down voluntarily. Trump's accusers were not as detailed of accounts. My fear is we make history for finding out a guy was a pedophile, and we elect him anyway. That's a creates a precedent as well.

B/c high quality individuals don't seem to run for political office. The quality of our politicians is unbelievably low right now.

We're either left with cardboard cutouts that just do what their master donors tell them to do, or we have fringe wackjobs like Roy Moore.

If repubs pull his nomination he stays on the ballot . If he wins it will be a do over election. Probably the best option if you think about it.

Then Alabama is an embarrassment for letting him get to this point.

If it turns out he is, remove him from office.

But you can not simply remove someone from consideration based on accusations alone.

And for the record, what he allegedly did is not pedophilia, which is classified as pre-pubescent. Words have meaning. Use the correct ones.

Totally agree. I don't know anyone who voted for him. Obviously they're out there somewhere, but everyone I know can't stand him.
