quote:

The state Republican Party has the power to disqualify Moore from the election, according to the Alabama secretary of state. If that happens, McConnell and other Republicans would face the challenge of figuring out which candidate would run in Moore’s place — and how to win an election in which it is too late to replace the former judge’s name on the Dec. 12 ballot. Under Alabama state law, the ballot cannot be changed within 76 days of an election. However, in the event of either disqualification or withdrawal, votes cast for Moore would not be certified.

They really need to save face and disqualify this clown, even if it guarantees a win for Jones. The term is only for a year anyway.

Someone should be disqualified just because someone brings accusations against them?

More like 5 women brought accusations. If this was the first time he's ever been caught up in a scandal, it would be one thing, but this guy has been a joke since day 1. You realize he's never finished a term in any office he's held? He's a grandstander and an embarrassment to the state.

40 years old. This is akin to waiting until a priest is dead to claim he diddled you.

It amazes me how delusional some of you are. I have friends who work for the party who were already going to write in a candidate before this last scandal came out. Anyone who actually knows this guy will tell you he's poison.

That's the real shame. Nobody takes any of this seriously anymore ever since he defaced the office of President.

Then vote against him. I probably would if. Lived in your state.

But to use political machinations to usurp the will of the voters in the primary is a terrible precedent.

Five women brought allegations of what? One claimed he fondled her. What about the others? Why now, after 38 years, right after he can't be taken off the ballot?

Damn journalists doing investigative journalism on an already controversial figure running for the US Senate! How dare they!

Repudiate him in the voting booth. It is that simple.

Normally I would agree with you, but these are extraordinary circumstances.

I agree with all of this.

That's still no excuse to disqualify him based solely on an accusation.

Don't you see what a dangerous precedent that creates?
