A few things I looked up that were blatant lies: 1) He never said gays should be killed 2) He never said gays should be stoned 3) He never called a black female stupid to her face....he did say the idiot on the SC Court that doesn't know what a woman is was a DEI Hire, which is absolutely correct. 4) The conversation about "one gun death" was completely taken out of context. 5) He never said women shouldn't have careers.
I didn’t follow CK but I have heard those things about him.
When you kill someone people actually stop and do some checking of their own. These kids are getting so worked up over stuff that never happened and go against what the person they hate actually thinks.
Maybe this will make people slower to judge.

Of all the crap this is what I fail to understand the most.
I grew up in a hardcore dem family in Arkansas. My grandma would have slapped me if I had said something about Bill Clinton in 1990.
I still have many older boomer family tht will vote Dem no matter what. I tolorate it because they really dont understand the political shift. They see the 6pm news and that is all they know.
But I dont understand how people like the OP dont realize how far left things have gone since 1990. A 90s lib if he dont change his views fall well on the conservative side now. Its not admitting you are wrong , its admitthing things have changed so much you just cant support the left as it is now.
BTW there is no more racist bunch of people than older bluedog dems.

Would you care to explain? Name some specifics.
I did in the OP, but this thread isn't about me.
It is about killing someone simply because you disagree with them, and the evil that promoted this.

Might I suggest you change your name to "TruthFactory?"

You were willing to do what all of these leftists spewing hateful vitriol are unwilling to do, actually look at the man and what he stood for. Good on you.

He was absolutely amazing and made a huge impact on college age kids.
These are 2 other former libs (gay, not that it matters) that are also making an impact on people of all ages.
Read about Brandon's eye opening journey; he even made several videos about it.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is my hope that others have the courage and honesty to look at this as you have.
Charlie is a huge loss. His message was one of honesty, passion, as well as compassion for others — especially those with whom he disagreed.
He was not the ghoul the left made him out to be, not even close. The only ghouls I’ve seen the last 48 hours are the ones celebrating his murder.
When people show you who they are, believe them.

I’d suggest, as a starter, joining your kids at church with an open mind.

My post history is pretty clear on the fact I quit voting D years ago because I recognized what they were becoming. I voted a lot of I and maybe one or two Rs here and there.
Going to be straight R from this point forward, even if I have to hold my nose.
Now if the R is an obvious Uniparty prick like Cassidy again, I won't vote.

I don’t either. But his message to the youth was sound.
I wish we had someone like that growing up. Instead we got figs like Obama.
Rush was there, but who was listening to talk radio as a kid? That shite was for boomers.

I think the fact that you chose to have an open mind and at least give the other side consideration by making your own judgment and opinions after reading fact speaks a lot of of you thanks bro. We need more people in this country to do what you did.

You and I are polar opposites politically.
But you earned my respect. I commend you for at least trying to understand.

I truly appreciate you taking the time to share this with us. I was once a Democrat myself, but that was back when Clinton was in the WH and dims were a different breed than today's sociopathic pinkos.and I admire your honesty about your social and religious beliefs.
That said, I know you're not a believer, but I hope that you don't mind me saying a prayer for you. I feel that the Lord has already begun working on you long ago. I just want to pray for an inner peace, comfort and strength for you and yours. And I don't want to preach at you, just pray for you.

I appreciate your post. Having been accused of being a “leftist” on this board myself simply because I don’t believe lock step with MAGA orthodoxy, it takes courage to speak up.
That said, I believe that anyone who is truly open-minded ends up gravitating to a religious substrate somehow. Something cannot come from nothing. So we end up questioning where we do come from, how to navigate this world, what causes us to make the decisions we do, etc. in order to orient ourselves. So we go on the quest to seek. At that point, one begins to realize it is too complicated not to submit to a higher order of things, which anyone seeking peace ultimately does. Some are more dogmatic about it, some subscribe to existing brands or denominations of religion, but all of us who seek end up being guided by some type of religious curiosity. Otherwise, if the world is merely material and we are just graduated amoeba, why seek?
And when one ends up in that place of inquiry, one cannot help but begin to see a natural order, a sanctity of life, a Logos, as it were. Otherwise would we orient ourselves?
The lack of any religious substrate is what is truly scary and dark. I’m not wary of a group because of what they believe, (belief I can deal with) I’m wary of a group who has no belief structure, no faith, at all, and only operates based on how they “feel”. That to me is terrifying. And that’s where this hate of coming from.
We have a competing ethos for the heart of this country. One ethos is governed by a belief that life is sacred and there is an order and structure governed by a higher power, and the other isn’t. IMO, that’s why so many gravitated to Charlie, because they knew there must be more to their lives than what the lack-of-belief collectivist crowd in the colleges and universities teach them. It doesn’t stand up the Logos and Charlie made them see that.
Thank you for sharing your story on this.

For those who are afraid to have religious faith, just know that Christianity is the foundation of right vs wrong. Look at the all the people who glorify violence and murder as justifiable for a political cause. Politicians and so called community leaders gleeful over a murder are not people anyone should look to for representation, but yet we have millions who do just because the can't accept religious faith.
It's people of faith that keep society as peaceful as it can be today. Just think what society would be like if everyone shared the same mentality as those gleeful.of murder because they just don't like that someone disagrees with them.
