Hell, I can name about 5. But the biggest was admission to Ivy League schools. If I were black I would have gotten a full ride to Harvard. Had to settle for a full ride to Centenary.
Not bad because today it's worth about 30K per year.

Note the new front page... lots of blacks, women. One token white guy. If you walked on the campus today it's all ugly white girls...mostly LUGS.

No, he gets much worse quite often.

Irrelevant. AA is offensive to those it "supports", or at least it should be.
The narrative of the laws and government programs in this country is that minorities are inept, ignorant and incapable of becoming successful on their own. In the case of AA, it's as blatant as it gets.

Irrelevant
White people are obsessed with people getting something they don't deserve, which is really ironic.

I have no idea why I'm routinely ignored on the poli board. I'm wildly popular elsewhere.

Affirmative Action = Reparations for slavery = "spread the wealth around". It will only go away when the Latinos become a strong voting block and get pissed at carrying the water for underperforming Blacks. Whites don't get to make the call; they're tainted.

So white people always get stuff they don't deserve?

I hadn't noticed it, so I went ahead and liked your earlier post Broke. You're a generally thoughtful poster elsewhere, so I'll try to make a point not to ignore you in the future.

Your great-great grandchildren, if they choose to remain in this country, will live with Affirmative Action.
It will never go away. Never.
I'm not saying it's good or bad, I'm just saying that it is permanent.

AA is an assault on excellence more than anything else. If enough tokens can't qualify just lower the standards, been happening for decades.
The country has become less competitive primarily because of tokenism. How's the token president working out? He never would have sniffed the office if he wasn't black.
AA doesn't affect me because I have never met a black person or woman who could do my job but it still pisses me off.

You've got to be kidding.
The daughters of the rich regardless of the color of their skin benefit the most from AA and the sons of the poor whites benefit the least.
Even though I got a BS in Mathematics in 1968, I was forced to go into business for myself because of AA.

I saw a segment on MSNBC about modern day affirmative action and it got me thinking. I'm of the strong opinion that my generation, "generation X" should be the last generation to contend with Affirmative Action
You might think that as blacks rise as a percentage of the nation's population that wouldn't be the case but actually, the more votes they represent, the greater effort the left will go to make sure that they maintain that 95% voting block.

Irony is having the system geared towards your culture as a whole to succeed while dragging everyone else down yet your culture still lags behind.
Irony is having everything geared your way by way of denied racism, yet claiming everyone else but yourself is racist.
AA is racist in and of itself. Period.

No, I'm pissed off about the double standards for minority groups in this country that have an effect on everyone (including minorities)
Sorry I'm not your typical American voter who will eat up any heart string tugging bs you can conjure up. The fact that you actually allow the media and this administration to brainwash you into thinking everyone is a victim of something, speaks volumes about you.

I prefer to be in environments and settings (educational, clinical, etc) where I am around people with unique backgrounds, upbringings and stories, as opposed to a room full of people who think and act and grew up just like me. I know many here probably disagree, but thats fine.

Just out of curiosity, when you guys see/meet/hear about a successful black person (ivy league acceptances, elite grad school, etc) do you automatically assume that without AA he/she would not be in the same position due to merit alone? IE this person took the spot of a more qualified individual?

By the way. You don't have to be white to think this. I've heard more than one black say such things about successful blacks. I'd say blacks are pretty much just as likely to assume affirmative action played a role as whites are.

This has not been my experience at all. Quite the contrary, all my black friends are also frustrated when ppl automatically think "AA" when they attain more and more success.
