If the “vast majority” of Republicans don’t want Cornyn he won’t win. I think you can relax. Regardless of your paranoia, there aren’t enough illegal votes in a Republican primary to change the result…

Cornyn is 74 years old

I can't imagine why people want to keep going at that age

The current incarnation of the "SAVE Act" contains legislation that protects the permissible genital mutilation of minors as long as the parents consent.

I've got a problem with that.

Why do these idiots always have to affix some crap that makes the whole bill unpalatable? "Gender reassignment" of kids with gender dysphoria does absolutely nothing to "save America". If anything, it flushes us one spiral farther down the toilet.

These people make me sick.

ETA: I see that Trump has retracted the "gender reassignment" for kids crap. Good on him. But I'm going to need to see evidence that is isn't being sneakily inserted into the bill anyway. I don't trust any of them. The SAVE Act is not worth passing if it contains protections for what is essentially legal child abuse.

I can overlook the Venezuela and Iran actions, because I can see the big picture. I can overlook the "minimal deportations" because i know there's a veritable army of activist judges out there trying to thwart Trump's agenda. But I cannot overlook an unforced error that would empower parents to surgically mutilate their children and develop the next generation of church and school shooters.

It's obvious the Left have something on Thune. He is scared of his own shadow.

Jim Demint once said he'd rather have 30 Senators that vote like him than be in the majority. Nice bravado. However, what it means in reality IS you are losing every damn vote.

As for Cornyn, don't care for him but frankly, Paxton is actually worse. As bad as Cornyn's poll numbers were, Paxton should have won by a nice margin instead of losing. What it means is the GOP will have to spend tens of millions of dollars defending what should be a safe seat.

That is money that could be spent in North Carolina and a couple of competitive races. Money that is desperately needed in those races.

So, you blow all your money in Texas, and wind up in the minority or do you bit the bullet and put Cornyn in with a Senate majority?

Tis the question.

Paxton and Cornyn can both beat that ambiguously gay fake preacher from Austin.

Cornyn elected more of the same bullshite we are dealing with now.

Cornyn nominated bc Paxton drops out, makes it less likely people will show up for him, and we end up with Texas Senator ambiguously gay fake preacher, or a Senator Cornyn who is the status quo which sucks

Sincerely,
The State of Louisiana

PS - I just want Paxton to become AG as part of the deal. If Thune is so interested in keeping his boyfriend Cornyn there - then he can make sure that Paxton sails thru

Cornyn is not Cassidy. Cassidy voted to impeach Trump. Cornyn did not. They are not the same. Cornyn is center-right and yes, he has been disappointing to MAGA on occasion but not a disaster. I voted Paxton but would trade his candidacy for the SAVE ACT.

Talerico will not survive the campaign ads using his own insane words. I would rather someone younger and more MAGA than Cornyn, and Paxton fits that bill, but there's something about the guy I can't get behind.

All that said, I'll eagerly pull the lever against any democrat, even if it's not my first choice. It's good vs. evil, and while the Republican may not be that good, I know which side is evil, and I'll always vote against it.

He will. Cornyn and Thune are holding it hostage to force Trump to endorse Cornyn.

I think I tried to make this point yesterday...
Paxton can win in Texas, but there's going to have to be a ton of spending to help pull him across the line.

That's money that can't be used in Georgia, NC, Maine, Michigan.

Which would you prefer? Cornyn staying in the Senate, flip Georgia, keep Tillis's seat red or get Paxton in and have both Georgia/NC seats stay/flip blue?

Texan chiming in here… we got you Wink! No way in hell Cornyn wins the runoff.

He is persona non grata and the last vestige of the Bush political machine here in Texas.

We hate Cornyn as much as yall hat Cassidy.

Even if Trump endorses Cornyn, he ain’t winning

I voted for Paxton last week and will vote for him again in the runoff and in the general election.

His inaction for many years on elimination of the social security WEP for teachers, police and fire always put him in the doghouse with me.

6 more years of RINO Cornyn isn’t worth passing a bill that will get neutered by the courts.

Only if Paxton is named AG after Bondi is set to the side.

This is where “we” voters screw up. Re-electing Cornyn is losing a seat to a democrat. The term RINO means something.

no subsidies or grants.
No offense, but why would you place the blame for a project that has no government dollars going into it, on your senator? Why would you need that letter of support that was so critical to this project that it's failure to start is on him, not you?
