So only those who sneaked can be considered “illegal”

Of which the penalty is often to be deported.

Unfettered illegal immigration completely shits on the long process the legal immigrants had to go through. Imagine spending years applying, filling out forms, paying thousands of dollars to do it right... And then someone just waltzes across the Mexican border. What a slap in the face. It's the same kind of slap that "forgiving student loans" does. One guy scrimps, saves, sacrifices, and pays off his loan. Then the Democrats tell some other guy (who partied, never sacrificed to pay his loans back) that everything is "forgiven". It's a giant "frick you" to the responsible people.

Rules are important. I don’t think anything you said is wrong. In many ways I agree and it is right.

But I believe making them a scapegoat of a larger issue, many largely good people that IMO deserve a pathway ( we should be a nation of refuge with our immense wealth). We can be a powerful, forceful, protecting, wealthy nation, and a just, kind, compassionate and giving nation in the spirit of the Judeo Christian ideals we tout all the time. It feels as if many Americans feel like we can’t do both.

I just think the overall disposition of counting other people’s change, is a weak, swallow, and pity perspective to have on life and on a national scale. it doesn’t serve us in a way that keeps us as the beacon on good will throughout the world. We can lead with force and love. It’s pity, small and unbecoming but that’s who we are as a people right now

I wonder what the number would look like if only those that pay federal income tax were polled.

You mean outside Trump wanting to give amnesty to the ones who work for big corporations while also making those big corporations exempt to any punishments they might would receive for hiring illegal aliens to start with?

What you either don’t realize, or choose to ignore, is that a President only has so much power. And congress has rules that are meant to slow down majorities. The only way Trump could get real deficit reduction is to let the tax cuts expire, don’t spend on stopping illegal immigration, and don’t ramp up defense spending to confront China.

I'm for deporting all illegals. I just want them to chill on the legal immigrants and permanent residents.

Got a buddy who is freaking out. He's a permanent resident from laos. He came over when he was 10. Was a legit refugee. Him and his mother was given permanent resident status. When he was 18, he was arrested for a dui. The only time he was ever in trouble. He's freaking out because of some bill that was apparently passed last week or week before last. Idk. Saying that they can use that dui from 40 years ago to revoke his permanent resident status and deport him. I don't get it. He has been working and paying taxes for 40 years, has drank since the dui. It's unfathomable to me that they would revoke his status over that. Again though.. idk shite about immigration laws. So forgive my stupidity on the subject.

A majority of Americans are slow witted idiots that would trade their constitutional rights for a dinner at outback, which is why the founding fathers were so skeptical of giving the ignorant masses the power of the vote.

Trump is pushing for it, he's not being forced unless you are just telling me he's a puppet.

Who said anything about overstaying their visa? At least 11 million came across the border without visas and the actual number is probably closer to 20 million. That’s criminal.

frick you and your stupid fricking dog.

Pushing for what? Not letting tax cuts expire? Spending to stop illegal immigration? Ramping up defense spending to confront China? Yeah, no kidding.

He's pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens who work certain jobs and meet certain requirements while exempting the businesses that employed those illegal aliens from penalties.
