And we basically cover their pharmaceutical costs. I do think Trump should straight up pass legislation stating the US will only pay the average cost of all European countries. Have hearings. Make all of those fricking CEOs explain why we are paying for everyone else.

Big Pharma can raise the price on Europe or eat it but an EpiPen $680 here and $80 in the UK. We are paying for their pharmaceuticals. This needs to stop.

It shows how bought out BOTH parties are when it comes to big pharma. We should do the same thing Europe does. We will pay this amount or we won't pay at all. You don't get to stick the US for cheap drugs for the rest of the fricking world.

And yes, even though Europeans love to mock our healthcare, theirs sucks too. I would bet that rich Canadians do the same as rich Americans and they go to Mayo and other top tier hospitals for their serious ailments.

Back in the early 2000's I was required to take a lot of Nortel Networks certification courses with instructor led curriculum. Nortel Networks was a Canadian company so some of the instructors were Canadian. One of my instructors was from Vancouver and she told several of us that she had to come to the US for a medical procedure because the wait time in Canada was several months.

Anyone that wants the government to give us free stuff has never been to a Charity hospital.

How can you possibly believe that if you give money to the government and after they collect their portion and pay some useless government employees to provide you a service that said service is going to be worth anything?

Oh yeah, it's the people paying nothing that want more of YOUR money.

One part of the Canadian Universal Healthcare system that has no wait and seems to be working just fine is MAID, or the assisted suicide program.

A huge problem with England’s government run healthcare is medical care professional’s salary is set by the government. So a nurse makes what a preschool teacher makes. So it’s a hard job with the pay of much easier jobs which had led to huge shortages.

The government makes everything worse.

Do you know anyone who has lived in Canada for an extended period?

My first girl friend in NYC was Canadian. At the time, Canadian socialized medicine was very new and was well stocked with state of the art equipment and staffing very much like ours. It went down, down and down from there as the bean counters kept cutting the budgets and using long waiting periods to fill the gaps. Top Canadian doctors retired or left and were often replaced with cheaper foreigners.

Around 37% of physicians in Canada are immigrants (foreign-born).

This figure comes from official Government of Canada data (as of late 2022/2023 updates), which breaks down immigrant representation in healthcare occupations:Physicians: 37%
Pharmacists: 43%
Dentists: 45%
Registered nurses: 25%

Anyone that wants government run healthcare should be required to have TriCare. In fact Congress should be required to use Tricare.

Canadian officials probably already know the financial break even point with the growing number of assisted suicides. If you can’t afford to heal them, just kill them.

I live near the medical center in Houston. I have met people from all over the world here that have come because the universal healthcare in their country has failed them.
