Anyone playing for the United States of America who refuses to face the flag and place their hand on their heart when the national anthem is playing should be removed from the team immediately and barred from competing permanently.

This. It’s pretty damn simple. Most of us have watched the olympics every single edition simply to watch the folks in the Stars and Stripes succeed. It’s basic patriotism. If these athletes don’t share our patriotism, we won’t tune in. They only have a platform in the first places due to people’s patriotism
Same with college sports except substitute patriotism for pride in your school or home state

This right here. I went from watching sports almost every night to not watching at all. And that includes woke LSU. Funny thing is life is better without it. More family time, working out, and concentrating on out door hobbies.

I hate those woke frickers as much as the next man but I don't think they were turning away from the veteran playing the anthem so much as facing a flag that was placed in the opposite direction. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the share. I’ve never really watched soccer, but supported the women’s team in getting more notoriety as they were relatively successful internationally. frick this shite from now on. This is disgusting to support in any function.

When the country gets World Cup or Olympic fever every couple of years, it's because we want to see America kick arse on the world stage. We want to see our flag get raised, and our anthem get played. Not because we give a shite about Megan Rapinoe's opinion on anything.

That’s really what struck me more than turning away from the flag. I’m damn near numb to that now. That guy deserves better than that. Put aside your bullshite for just a minute or two and have some fricking respect for someone that fought against evil and did his part to help liberate millions. That just pisses me off to no end. We have so few WW2 vets left they shouldn’t ever have to be subjected to this shite in their twilight years. Frick these people.
