dont forget they were also going after every transaction over $600 too.

fricking gestapo was in charge.

these motherfrickers buy & sell 100s of thousands of dollars on insider trading deals all the time and they're fricking going after Boudreaux for selling his old lawnmower for $600.

So this is what you want?

I'd actually prefer lower rates with a much broader tax-paying base.

Why?

Because these people are the proverbial low hanging fruit. They can’t afford to hire CPAs and attorneys to defend them and to make IRS agents look like idiots. IRS agents get to bully these people and basically get what they want because people are terrified of them.

The IRS goes after what they can collect. The low hanging fruit is anything less than $500K from people with jobs or assets. They are not going after Bernie Madoff or people that owe millions. They'll never collect that.

Happy for you. Been there.
Go check out the rates from Pre-Reagan.
Enjoy your top income rates too.
Before your last breath, I promise you will not be worried if the new GWagon order is late or the installation of the new marble floors are past due either.

Most of the folks who lie on their Schedule C's make less than $400K (and then wonder why they don't have enough quarters to qualify for Social Security or complain their benefits are too low). Most of these folks expect their tax preparers to show either no income or a taxable loss. The IRS needs to target them and your hobby farmers who raise a few heads of cattle then BS on Schedule F's.

We still haven't gotten that $2500 savings on healthcare Obama promised us either.

Nothing but a loan from God. Steve Jobs was not thinking about all his billions during his last week of life on this earth. Life of the Flesh or Life of the Spirit. Galatians 5: 13-26
If more people lived the Life of the Spirit like Jesus, this world would be a much better place.
Who is more in the spirit - the billionaire who gave $20 million to have his name on a building or the widow who put her last penny in the basket?
Peace.

that is pretty much word-for-word what he said

LINK

quote:

Specifically, I direct that any additional resources—including any new personnel or auditors that are hired—shall not be used to increase the share of small business or households below the $400,000 threshold that are audited relative to historical levels.

If I made a million but only claimed $399,999, did they audit a millionaire or someone who made less than 400K?

For the sake of discussion on his quote, what is the share of audits historically for the under $400k group?

The entire thing is bullshite to begin with, but what was their % before the new agents were hired?

Don't 90% of taxpayers make less than $400,000?

That's not the least embarrassing for me. I had no idea what he said and was genuinely asking.

That's always the case. Biden's IRS was no different from how the IRS has conducted itself for the past 60 years. I would venture to say if the IRS was being consistent they were going primarily for people making under 200K
