That’s not maple syrup. That’s not even worthy of being classified as dog piss. Mrs. Butter worth’s is more fake than your wife’s orgasms.
I make my own maple syrup. I will never ever use watery corn syrup with maple flavoring. Anyone claiming that Mrs. Butterworth’s, Log Cabin, or any other mass produced garbage is “maple syrup” ought to be anally raped by a rusty fork.

It's fake garbage, but Mrs. Butterworth's still tastes better than real maple syrup. Sorry.

If they're exporting that much to the United States, it is very likely because the United States needs the goods or materials. I don't see the importing stopping because of tariffs directly because US retail and manufacturing likely needs whatever they've got. So that just means the increased costs will get passed to the consumer. What is more likely is something like mutually assured destruction, we cause a dramatic slowing of our consumer economy and wipe out our two neighbor's economies with it.
I don't know how you can see how this country reacted to being asked to stay inside and not go to Chili's for dinner during those lockdowns and think "oh yeah, Americans are just going to love even higher prices than post-pandemic inflation." The American conception of freedom since the post-war boom has been almost totally tied to our ability to consume. There is going to be a pretty significant reaction against this administration if this goes the way I suspect it will.
Additionally, United States' place in the global economy is largely predicated on the US being the dumping ground for everyone else's excess production. If we're import hostile, we're just trying to speed run ending USD as the global reserve currency and leading to a Chinese-centered global banking alternative to the United States. When you consider how we're becoming tariff happy and already have damn near half the world sanctioned from using the Western banking system...what is the point of the United States to the rest of the world besides just a nuclear Sword of Damocles hanging over the head of humanity?

If tweet fails to load, click here. What is it with liberals , in this case pussy Trudeau, that have people stand behind them when they speak in public?
Every democrat news conference or speaking event has a circus of freaks stand behind them when they speak in public? Same with having a sign language interpreter. Do all dem events have an audience of deaf individuals? And why do they have a box of the sign language individual for television? Is closed caption not available for live news conferences? It's like a TV broadcast from the 1970's.
Rant over.

Take a simple look at items.
You think it costs a dollar US to ship a single avocado from mexico to the US? Of course not, its the price the consumer will pay, with a tariff the consumer will pay the same price, its the seller who will reduce their obscene margins.
Now the flipside, you ever priced US goods outside the US? Why are our goods cheaper outside the US, like drugs? Once again its the companies making far more margin in the US than abroad.
Tariffs will have far less impact on US consumers than these "sky falling" prognosticators.

we wait them out, it’ll be even worse for both. Perhaps we start buying more Saudi crude instead of North Slope.
What does the North Slope of Alaska have to do with Crude prices.
We import that Middle Eastern Black gold every day, tariff or not.
Now the Canadian Tar sands are another issue, only one that might need to sweat that one is Warren Buffet and his tanker trains since the Keystone pipeline was never finished, but Buffet’s got billions sitting in cash waiting for the market to dip and go stock shopping.
