Yea these results shouldn’t surprise anyone given how this poll seems to have been worded. Take a step out of your own mind and step into that of the average American brought up through the public education system. You see the word “slavery” and don’t immediately consider it in the global sense but rather in the context of the Atlantic slave trade generally and slavery in America more specifically.

HBCUs are at fault here. They have entire curriculums based on Black
History where the students study Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, and the inventor of the first traffic light and the usage of the peanut.
And they all believe that these things were the greatest achievements of Mankind.
And they call that the Study of History.

There are more slaves in the world today than at any time in human history. The Global Slavery Index puts the total number of slaves at 49.6 million. The overwhelming majority of modern slaves are in China, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Africa, and North Korea.

Yeah and they all have to do with Arabs and blacks being the slave owners. I spent a lot of time in the Middle East and North Africa. Slavery is widespread there

I think the better focus of questioning would be who was last, as a group, to practice slavery... or who, as a group, still practices. Also, what groups ended slavery and in what order. These complainers don't want to delve into that conversation, though.

CNN et al want you to think the radical, hate-filled black "leaders" they present are representative but that hasn't been my experience. Granted, most of the black dudes I've been close to have been oilfield guys but there's a sizeable black middle-class who ain't down with the wokeness. For the most part I've managed to avoid both the ghetto and black academia with very little effort

The United States outlawed the transatlantic (as a matter of fact, any importation) slave trade in 1808, just 25 years into our history as a nation. Of course, the domestic slave trade and some smuggling still took place, but efforts to end slavery were already underway.
