Very weird. The thread is about veterans receiving disability and you felt the need to post this.
You are not only weird, you are dumb.

Let them start with illegals and fraud first.

Many years ago, the VA tried to move to more of a "service connected", model where if you smoked 4 packs of cigarettes a day for 40 years should not be burdensome for the VA.

The U.S. military gave free cigarettes to soldiers starting in World War I to calm nerves in battle and ease boredom. During World War II and the Vietnam War, cigarette packs were standard in daily field ration kits. This practice ended in 1972 as health risks became clear.

That is a different department
Why would people overseeing welfare abuse have any say over VA disability fraud?

Don't hate the player, Hate the game. Don't miss understand me, there are leeches in the system but if you ask most vets if they would rather the check or better health, they would chose health.
The VA made the rules. It's not like you can claim an injury because you're getting older, NO. It has to be documented in your health record and you have to have a current diagnosis and being treated for that injury to get approved.
24 year retired Seabee, no combat and filed one time myself and hit 90%. I retired in 2007 with just retirement pay. Never considered filing a claim due to pride and I thought hell I'm just getting old. After being told multiple times by many veterans to file I finally did. All it took was my recent medical records and hit 90% the first time. I didn't lie or deceive anything.
I have so many things to say about this but here's just a few things that increase disability claims.
Every command has a class telling you how to claim disability before you get out, it's a mandatory class when getting out.
I see people complain about office types getting it but the reality is, you're an athlete the whole time you're in. naturally, athletes get hurt. I played full contact football in Rota Spain with FLA's playbook from one of the officers.
I saw many former college athletes join after losing a scholarship, they came in with injuries already but never told anyone.
I also watched many kids come in on the first contract to claim PTSD and never even deployed, they got a desk job till they were processed out.
I agree the scam is real but it's not everyone.

With all the major issues this country is facing including billions stolen from tax payers including myself , from scam programs like USAID, etc and this is your concern.

I hate being on the fence since I have people close to me that are serving, but the abuse is real. I know guys that deliberately avoid medical treatment so when they are set to get out, then can count it as disability. Things like knees and ankles they avoid getting taken care of. That was never the intent, but people will always game a system when it comes to money.

Absolutely not. They will start with combatting Veteran Disability Welfare Fraud!

Veterans can't sue the government for a health issue they have because of their service. If the government gave 2 million soldiers faulty earplugs and they all lost a percentage of their hearing, yes, they are entitled to a certain level of disability payment, because their service took something away from them physically.
Alternatively, we could open up the government and every single private company that provides products for soldiers to be sued by guys like Gordon McKernan.

There are 6.3MM disabled veterans in this country.
That’s insane and absolutely ridiculous.

How?
The government robbing me and giving my money to foreigners is the bigger issue when it comes to money that is being stolen from me.

Its weird that people complain about not having enough soldiers but lets go after the vets
That will improve recruitment.

How are there still 54 people from WWI and before on benefits?

Right. Shaquanda, Sofía, or Tiffany and her 5 kids at the Dollar General using EBT, then jumping into their newer Yukon is more of a burden than Elon Musk, Richard Branson, etc

Yeah, the veterans going on his podcast looking healthy while admitting they have other jobs on top of 90% disability has done a lot of damage the past few years.
You’d prefer they be obese and unemployed?
I think you fundamentally misunderstand the purpose of VA benefits. No one is serving in today’s military purely out of a sense of love of country. Those days ended with GWOT after those guys came home to find their opportunities and country filled with foreigners (and citizens) that hate them.

Now do Welfare and SNAP benefits. Far more illegal shite there than Vet benefits
So what? Every American (and some non) is capable of receiving those benefits while only military members are eligible the other? A group consisting of about 18.5 million former and 1.3 active and comparing it to 295+ million Americans? That is the same thing some minority groups point out when talking about welfare benefits. "Well white people use most of the welfare in this country so they are the worst" Let's just ignore per capita abuse.
