This is literally a transfer of wealth from the citizens to the government.
Starting with a number of 30% tells you it’s not strategic, meaning, they aren’t concerned about specific environmentally sensitive areas like estuaries. If it was, they would target those instead of a random number.

So you're not particularly concerned about the 28% of land that the federal government currently owns but you think a revolution happens at 30%?

I wonder what percentage of the land the federal government currently owns, was actually taken from private citizens. I know a good bit of the land for few of the Eastern national parks was, but the really vast swaths out West were basically always federal land. I'm thinking it must be a pretty small percent.

I'm not sure. There isn't much clarity.
However, slimy arse democrats would say...

Then turn around and say, "Oh, we're talking about 30% of private land. That doesn't include lands the govt. already controls."
You know how they do...

This seems to be obviously inaccurate speculation based on the math provided in your link alone
The link claims that the government controls 12% of the land already
That leaves a gap of 18%
And the government doesn't necessarily need to confiscate the land via eminent domain to "protect it"
You may remember that some controversial wetland legislation was passed in the late 2000s that had numerous regulations on private property

FYI the federal government already owns 28% of the land in the country
Guess that extra 2% is what you think will spark a revolution?

To reach the 30 by 30 target will require conserving an additional area twice the size of Texas, more than 440 million acres, within the next 10 years. The White House has yet to specify who will oversee the initiative at the federal level and which lands and waterways might be prioritized.
are you having problems with?

I remember being confused about why they didn't specify the exact location of some disaster that actually happened in West, TX - when my ears interpreted it as west Tx. (had never heard of the city)

Ok, pay attention to what you are seeing right in front of you. Eminent domain is for when the government needs the land for the country's infrastructure.
Now, who is currently out there redefining what infrastructure is?
