In an executive order issued on January 27 to address the climate crisis, President Joe Biden ordered a pause on new oil and gas leases on public lands and created a White House office of environmental justice. He also quietly committed his administration to an ambitious conservation goal—to protect 30 percent of U.S. land and coastal seas by 2030.

I was told landowners who refuse to sell 30% could be forced by eminent domain. If you own 100 acres, 30 go to the feds. No farming, no grazing, and no drilling.

Granted, the amount of land the govt. controls out west is already a huge chunk of the 30% of the USA goal.

Any modifier attached to Justice actually detracts from the word justice.

They need to start in Martha's Vineyard and work their way down the coast...

To reach the 30 by 30 target will require conserving an additional area twice the size of Texas, more than 440 million acres, within the next 10 years. The White House has yet to specify who will oversee the initiative at the federal level and which lands and waterways might be prioritized.

This is how you get a revolution. 30% of all land going to the feds? Has to be a misinterpretation

I would say that there ain't no f*cking way that would pass Constitutional scrutiny, but we all F*CKING KNOW that they are not looking to pack the Supreme Court with justices who will follow the law and the Constitution.

This is terrifying.

I repeat Joe Xiden is officially the worst President* in my lifetime.

1. More corrupt than the Clintons
2. More disastrous than Obama on policy
3. More government overreach than W

Rock Bottom will be swearing in Kameltoe

It just keeps getting worse

Technically true. However, in accordance with what law and they have to pay you in compensation.

It also opens the federal government up to all sorts of lawsuits.

The federal government already owns the majority of the land on the west coast

FYI the federal government already owns 28% of the land in the country

Guess that extra 2% is what you think will spark a revolution?

BLM is larger than 30% of Oil and Gas Minerals. If an individual owns anything on the western slope of Colorado for instance. They only own the surface.

If what you're saying is true it has to be about water rights. Water is a major issue out there. You have 1st 2nd and 3rd water rights. Government is trying to control all water out west if they do. You can not drill unless the government says so. Even if you have a permit to drill.

Oh, the "now you know what the native Americans felt like" consolation statements from the self loathing white people is going to be entertaining

It will be interesting to see if the proposals are for 30% of all the land in America or 30% of the land per state.

Same thing I said.

Then this morning I was having a cup of coffee and talking shop with the local clerk of court and she said, "Oh yeah, it's exactly what it sounds like."
