It's not a technicality. It's the law.

We can't have people in positions of power and authority using those positions for their own personal benefit like getting some strange to mash their genitals with. It's an abuse of that trust that was given when they got those positions.

With that said, teachers who do this should be fired immediately and their teaching license permanently revoked. They can switch to another career.

People are only responding this way because this is a female teacher and male student.

Just imagine you are actually her age in college or just graduated and thinking how pathetic it is for this female college graduate to want to get with a high school kid.

The teaching profession's loss is Starbuck's gain. Baristas aren't born to brew, they simply have nowhere else to go.

Hell, this kid was already 18 years old and all she had to do was wait until the day he graduated to start fricking him.

I know she wants the dick bad but she's a grown arse woman that can control herself.

i will say it again, no teacher less then 10 years older, then the age of graduating students, should be allowed to teach at that school.

it doesnt solve the problem with true perverts, but when there is a case like this, where teacher and student are only 5 yrs or less age difference there really is no justification to say its a problem other then prudishness. but that said, the temptation is there and the age restriction removes putting sexually active persons of authority or supervision in close proximity to students of nearly the same age at school.

an 18 year old having sex with 16 yr old - so what, it shouldnt matter

a 20 or 22 year old having sex with 18 yr old - so what, it shouldnt matter

Honestly, this is way too young to be a teacher in my opinion.

While I agree, and it's totally apples and oranges, I always ask myself in these cases (which pop up often now): It's amazing that you can have an Academy grad, or an ROTC at University grad, at the age of 23, being an infantry or Armor or Artillery Platoon Leader/Commander in charge of up to 40 combat arms soldiers...they have a ton of weight and responsibility and trust and latitude given to them at a very tender age.....what the hell is the deal with teachers??

That's pretty much how the law is written

Well it doesn't look like she was a teacher, she was a student-teacher.

Why? Who would go into teaching if they had to wait 7 years after high school to even begin teaching in the first place? It's not medical school or law school, and even then, those are more of a function of the educational and training requirements than age per se.

If we're talking about High School I agree, I don't see any problems with young college graduates teaching in elementary schools. The teachers fresh out of college are often the more motivated and effective ones.

I would agree with that as we can't negatively impact the labor supply for schools but age restrictions clearly has to be made for high school.

Technically the student boned the teacher. Is that a double technicality?

This sure ain’t the OT since I’m the first to say IWHI.

Are you recommending the government further regulate a system, because you believe that there should be an age restriction, based on the poor behavior of a select few?

That looks a lot like prog filth logic to me.

People who don't want to frick their students.

But even then, I would support this restriction only for high school.

Schools are part of the government.

Just like there are restrictions on who can serve in the military and the rest of the public sector.

Anyway, why not?

Because the 24 year old who wants to do something ridiculous and illegal, will somehow not want to do it when they turn 25?

How about this? Don't hire the teachers who make poor decisions, instead of restricting the job prospects for the vast majority who wouldn't.

Your reasoning is purely emotional and reactionary.

Most are. A lot aren't either. They already have educational and experiential barriers of entry like most professions anyways.

Sure. But there are already restrictions, and usually they aren't as asinine as your proposal.

I don't know. Maybe because most teachers don't sleep with their students, whether 23 or 50.
