Agree.
Some really great philosophical discussions—from all perspectives.
The key to success for such a board is moderation that encourages open mindedness.

It tends to be more Philosophy than Religion, most of the time.

Since you are talking to Chicken, maybe you can show it to him.

I’m arguing that if god is real, how do you know yours is real?

My friends mom told me to pray for her one day, and she said say a prayer to your buddy for me, I got to thinking who would that be?

Well my granny had passed away a couple months before this and she had always read her bible and was the sweetest soul I ever knew.

So that night I said a simple prayer to Jesus for her and nothing else. Did not beg him to show his self or ask for anything for myself. Just a simple prayer to him. Then the next day a string of events happened that made me believe that it had to be Jesus because I had just prayed to him for the first time in my life.

So in that moment of belief I was saved by the grace of God and was immediately A different person. I knew nothing of the Bible but a few stories that I had never believed either. But as I dove in I realized it perfectly explained everything that had happened to me.

In that moment of belief I started crying uncontrollably and began to say I’m sorry! I didn’t know! I’m sorry! I didn’t know!

I didn’t say I’m sorry for any particular sin I was just sorry I didn’t know he was real, and knew I would begin to live for him. I was given the gift of the Holy Spirit and began to have power over sin and of course I still sin but I genuinely repent and turn away from sin because as I grow I hate sin more and more.

We will always fall short of the glory of God. But he gives us power over sin and we are forgiven by the blood of Jesus.

I did not pray to Muhammad or Rasta Man or any other false idol.

I prayed to Jesus Christ.

The existence of a creator is there for all to see. His existence screams out to us in all of creation. Everything that exist can trace its beginning to some force, an origin.

I once sat with an old WWII veteran in an assisted living facility. He'd lost his wife a year before and he spent his days thinking and reflecting. I will never forget what he told me that day. I spoke to him about God but I sensed He could teach me a lot about God. At one point he said, "I think a lot about what is on the other side of the sky, and where does the sky end and where does it begin?" I was speechless, because it followed exactly the revelation that was experiencing at that point in my life. This notion of floating in the Sea of God.

I choose to believe in the reality of a single Deity that orders all things. My belief is based on the simple reality of origin. Everything has origin, a beginning. You have origin, you came from your mother's womb. If you choose to delve in geneology you could prolly trace the origin of your ancestors back centuries, maybe even millenia.

I have not seen or met this Deity, but I read a book about a man who claimed to be the Son of this Diety. There is historial evidence of his existence. The Jewish scholar and historian Josephus (37AD-100AD) speaks about the man "Christus". We call him Jesus the Christ. The Anointed One.

My reasoning is prolly not sufficient to persuade you to believe in the reality of the one Triune God. Faith is a personal choice. You either believe in Him or you don't. I'm old and I've lived. I am in the winter of my life. I've seen genuine mirales. Unexplained events only explained within the realm of the supernatural. I never asked for miracles, they just happened. I certainly never believed that I deserved to see them. But I excersized my faith. I was always willing to share my belief in the reality of God and his love, although I never forced my beliefs on anybody.

God does exist and He does love us, including you.

Gloria Patri!

I've refrained from doing my own thread proclaiming Christ as my Savior because I know many on this forum are offended by such proclamations but your OP has brought great joy to my heart and soul today.....I'll be praying for your walk with Christ, that you're strengthened daily by the Creator's Truth, Wisdom and Word. God bless ya brother!

You might want to reconsider that position.

This is the Politics board. Some religious discussion has legit ties to politics, but this thread is pure proselytization. It has no place here. I don’t want to go to the Epicurean Board and read about how pleased you are with your vasectomy, either.

You're correct but I'm sure you'll forgive Luke just this one time...Peace be with you friend.

Why? Because I'm healthy, believe in God, and don't need to be part of our medicated society?

God bless you too brother!

Thank you for the prayers too, much needed.

Just remember people did not save you, and they can’t take it away. Just love them all and plant those seeds!

I’ve always said that in a true Patriot’s life it’s:

1. Christ Almighty
2. Trump
2. Family
3. Work / School

Kk bae bae

Just remember, when you die, you will return to the state of nothingness that you were prebirth.

There is no afterlife.

There is no heaven.

There is no hell.

We are born. We live. We die. The world moves on.

You grasp to this belief of a higher god because you want there to be meaning in your life. You want there to be a greater cause. A reason for being.

I just hope that you live your life to the fullest. It’s the only one you have. It’s everything you have. It’s everything you’ll be. If believing in god gives you peace, then have at it. We will feed the worms together, brother.
