This has been asked in this thread, and it’s something I’ve questioned before:

Why does God give children cancer and other debilitating diseases that inevitably result in death? Why does he allows children to suffer?

I will never understand why.

So you are no longer into women?

Don’t take my word for it. The Bible says so.

Somewhere in the world a kid has just been molested, some innocent soul was just blown to bits by a bomb because of a unnecessary war, some helpless young lady was just murdered by an agent boyfriend, someone just died in the hospital from this virus and left 3 kids without a parent etc. but Yea I’m sure the dreams they had for themselves were much more inferior than what actually happened to them.

Maybe the orbit of earth was slower, making the first 6 days longer than we think about being a 'day'. No idea, and ultimately it doesn't matter.
You trying to make 6 days a real thing is just silly.

while scripture has tons of historical facts. even archaeology proving them. healings happened then and now. not everything is meant to be taken literally. I know you'd never comprehend that. there are parables and passages that have meanings relative to other things. the beginning could have been a datum point. a starting point for reference. not trying to be 100% accurate in modern years in regards to historical time. I do not think it claims exact years earth has been here does it? while there is science and history in scripture it is not a history or science book. it also does not make them mutually exclusive. adam and eve coulda been primitive neanderthals just as a reference point. ya know? micro evolution within a species?

so i take it you do not believe in laws of thermodynamics? law of conservation of angular momentum? You realize those disprove the big bang theory? paranormal? which are evidence of a creator?

did we have man with dinosaurs? you think that was impossible? You do not think there was any floods? you better look that up.

nobody has all the answers but you will never admit it. Many things are tied together.

also, neo darwinism aka macro evolution has no empirical evidence. You can use straw man arguments and deny science that works against you all you want but your belief relies on that and that has more holes in it than swiss cheese.

But I will say, your obvious hatred of God and Christians is a little over the top...considering you "don't care"

Where did I say I hated god or Christians?

I can’t hate something that doesn’t exist (god) and I certainly don’t hate Christians.

Amen and I am glad that Christ died for all sinners everywhere, of whom I am chief.

BJ, do you also “hate” small children who believe in the Easter bunny?

I suspect that your position is more one of benign amusement.

I also suspect that you might mock an adult who believed the same.

I think religious texts are wonderful reads and encourage everyone to read them. Not just of their religion but of others.

There are wonderful life lessons to be taught in the Bible and other religious texts. They’re great sources of modern moral thought.

That doesn’t make god real though.

Go read your posts. You don't mock something with your incredible vigor unless there are genuine feelings of hatred towards the subject.

Some religious discussion has legit ties to politics, but this thread is pure proselytization.

There isn’t a Religion Board.
I have a thread on the SR Help Board right now (posted a few weeks ago), requesting one.
Religion/Faith board?

To the OP: There’s nothing like His gift of mercy. Your thread made my day.

Not enough information in the bible to support this.

right it was not trying to be a perfect exhibition in nuclear time using a nuclear clock. lots of generalizations and points made in a grander scheme. much to be taken literally and figuratively. people have to understand its main purpose. a spiritual code.

I know this will be controversial, but Catholicism is a whole different animal. With it comes a lot of ritual observances, but with little to no redeeming power. Reading my Bible by itself has always made me wonder where Catholics got most of their liturgy. I have come now to understand for the most part that it is just man-made ceremony with zero biblical basis.

I urge you to find a Spirit-filled church that you can walk away with practical understanding. But I also warn of congregations that just resemble nightclubs and places of fun as most of those are on the other side of the fence. Finding the right congregation can be very difficult because most churches today have infected their theology with secular humanism, Eastern mysticism, and/or paganism. I pray you find truth!
