People need to quit taking shots they don’t really need.
That’s all they talk about now is what shots they got and what shots they due for.
But shingles is some f-d up stuff. People should hope there is something that legit helps prevent it. Not look at it like the COVID shot.

The immunity to prosecution and lawsuits has to be eliminated for vaccines.
It was a good idea gone horribly wrong and now used for pure evil.

Shingrix does.
If 1,000 people get vaccinated, 8 fewer people get shingles.

I’m glad I got the shingles vaccine.

Yo don’t take it to keep yourself from getting shingles, you take it so others don’t get shingles.
I have heard that somewhere but I can't place it.

That's good to hear. Hope it just improves as it gets closer to me having to decide to take it.
I never debated taking the COVID shot or not. I wasn't taking it, even when Trump was pushing it.
But when the time comes I'll do the research into Shingrx to take it. Shingles is evil shite.

You cited person-years. Per 1,000 person-years means per year on average - not just total. So this isn’t simply 8 fewer cases ever. It’s an annualized benefit being compared to a 21-day transient risk window.

Before the Covid19 plandemic, I visited my doc. There was an intern in there as well, as a sort of 'in training' exercise. Both brought up the topic of getting a shingles shot, and it felt like a full on hot box sales tactic. The intern told me of his wife, also a doctor, who had gotten shingles, to push the concept that 'anyone can get it, even a younger doctor'. He assured me that it's not something you want to risk getting if you can avoid it.
Just like the coof shot, which totally did NOT prevent anyone getting Covid19.
I was polite, and said I'd think about it. Never got it though.

I never took the Covid shot. I’ve never had the flu shot. I decline it if offered. I’ve never had Covid or flu.

I gotta admit that my refusal to get a recommended shingles shot a few years ago had nothing to do with possible danger or cost (it was covered by insurance). The reason I said 'NO' was simple. I HATE shots. They hurt.

I've had 3 cousins have shingles and they were miserable for weeks.
When my dr. recommended the shots I didn't hesitate.

Took my first shot in January. I'm 51. Arm hurt like a bitch for a week and I got flu-like symptoms for days 2 and 3. After that all good. I'm supposed to get a 2nd final shot in a couple months.
Knew a couple of people who got Shingles and it was some major hurt that took a very long time to go away.
I got the shots, but had no reaction at all. An old friend got it and could hardly move his arm for a week.
I wonder if the shot might boost the immune response of someone who currently suffers from Shingles.

Same.
I had a simple uncomplicated case on my left torso, bottom of my rib cage and it hurt like fire. I luckily didn't end up with post-shingles nerve pain and went fully back to normal, but you don't know what nerve root it'll erupt from. If it's a cranial nerve, you can get it in an eye and lose vision, for example. I am more than willing to undergo mild vaccine risks for significantly reducing big disease risks (and often recommend the same professionally).

I went for my annual checkup recently and my doctor brought up the shingles vaccine. He said it’s recommended for people who are 50 and over. I asked him if he took it and he said no. I said if he’s not taking it, then I’m definitely not taking it

Your nurse must be an a-hole. The only shots I’ve had that hurt was steroids when it started burning and the dumb bitch at CVS who gave me my covid shot(damn government contractor mandates)

The drug in question wasn't available widely until 2018 (here in USA) It was around 18-19 that I went to the doctor, before all went to hell and they didn't see folks for a few years in person.
