Probably not. The US company will need the tariff to stay in place just to compete.

So you can but one for $112 more but get one made with US food grade standards and better quality.....
Not really apples to apples. The Niche is a conical burr grinder more for home use and meets pretty tight standards for precision and consistency and handles espresso grinds well.
The grindmaster you posted is a big hunk of metal flat burr grinder made to grind a shitload of coffee quickly, though not nearly as precisely.

I mean tariffs make things more expensive until they don’t anymore. If anybody needs that explained to them, right or left, they’re a moron.
They’re too short sighted. All they can see is the present and the fact that their Chinese junk has gotten more expensive.

No, the tariff is still in effect on the competition, so the impact of that tariff is still in effect. The tariff made prices go up, the tariff is still in effect even when Bob's Coffee Grinders opens in Baton Rouge, so prices are still up.
You're seeing the impact now, but some of you think it's going to vanish somehow. I'm just asking what that "somehow" is.

Sorry about your espresso machine. Maybe you can put in your lululemon pants and raise some hell about it.

Is this winning?
Depends. Did he change his mind and buy American or did he just pay the extra?
Wait, either way it’s a win. If he bought American it’s a win for an American company. If he didn’t and went ahead with buying a Chinese product then he paid a stupid tax and it’s still a win.
Guess what? Either way it doesn’t impact me.

The only espresso grinder I can find made in America is a Zerno which appears to cost $1400 pre-tariff, and their blog post points out that even then their burrs are made in South Korea and would be subject to a 10% tariff. $700 for burrs x0.10 and the final cost is $1470 pre-tax.
Get a Eureka that is 100% Italian for a 20% tariff on EU stuff then and come out way ahead.

Which American companies make espresso grinders? Aside from the red rooster company posted above, which appears to be a $230 repurposed pepper grinder
Who the hell needs an espresso grinder? Especially a Chinese one being sold by a British company?
If you feel that you need an espresso grinder... well, I don't know what to tell you.
At any rate... here's one for just a bit more than $150.00.

Moving production to the US eliminates the tariff. Allowing US companies to sell more overseas lowers production costs.

I thought this was common knowledge.
