Bucks chasing last two days in the heat here in Claiborne county. That coupled with the fact I have to work this week tells me the next few days will be wide open.

I'm in Lawrence County so we should be in the same pattern as you. Heading up there for the week later today.

Hunted yesterday and this morning and no movement. Frustrating but about right for this time every year. It’s getting close though

I saw a buck chasing a doe this am driving onto lease off of Hwy 24. First notice of anything other than scrapes.

Had two day time bucks on camera today for the first time this year. Right at day light. Gotta be getting close around Magnolia. I’ll be up there Wednesday through Friday and most of the week after Christmas.

Slick I’m between McComb and Liberty. The next 2 weeks should be fun!
Unfortunately I’m on call this week so I’ll be home.

I’m ready. We just bought a small place East of 55 this year so this is my first year hunting the area.

Well you were correct. Shot a nice 8 point yesterday who was freshening scrapes and checking out does. Had another nice 8 point on camera this morning cruising the same area. Both had jet black hocks, and the one I shot was starting to smell like a rutting buck. This is in the Chatawa area.

Hunted Saturday and saw one little 4 point and two healthy does. Was thinking that pre-rut had started since the 4 was by himself this time. But once I got the cell cam back up and running still had bucks together last night night, including a probably 275 lb 9 pt.
Killed My second biggest in the middle of December a few years ago, 75 degrees by 8 am. He was posted up with does but not chasing them.

North of Liberty. Had 2 bucks together last night on camera. Don't think they are chasing yet my way.

Last night we had two bucks on camera. Not chasing yet in Woodville by 563. But there’s a ton of activity

I live 14 miles north of Liberty. We are seeing a couple bucks on camera behind my house . One is a nice 10 that we’ve never seen until Saturday.
Headed to woodville this afternoon after work for a couple days . The bucks are on the move . A friend that I hunt with saw 2 bucks moving at a good clip with noses on the ground . Lots of fresh scrapes showing up .

The rut starts at the first cool snap and doesn't end until all does are bred!.... Way to much is put into the rut especially in Louisiana. Thats why you still see spotted fawns well into September.

North of Woodville and Cenreville. Seeing bucks fighting on camera and cruising through plots with their heads up. Does getting bumped also. Classic pre-rut stuff. Gotta be close. We're moving off the full moon soon so early morning/evening activity should increase. Not seeing any stained hocs on camera, but that's usually hit or miss as an indicator. It's gonna happen when it always does. If we get more cold weather, we'll see more daylight activity.

Headed to the camp tomorrow. My dad saw a decent 6 not showing any signs of rut activity. Hoping something happens the next couple days.

Saw fawn/doe pair tonight then another fawn/doe pair. Hadn’t seen these two pairs at this plot yet or it’s been a while. No chasing yet. But they moving.
