Just got up. Hot as hell. Saw some scrapes on the walk to the box. Saw 2 bucks. One might have been legal but it was dark. So the bucks are still roaming together at my spot.

I’m just south of Wilkinson Co. Had a 5yr old 6pt we’ve been watching come by me yesterday morning at a steady lope with his mouth wide open. He wasn’t on the trail of anything particular but was pretty determined to cover some ground sucking wind and on the hunt.

This past Monday I had what I think is a young 8 pushing some does around in a thicket and doing some grunting.

Killed a nice buck last Saturday. Was bumping a doe around in a good plot.

Wow it’s really incredible the variety in what everyone is seeing. This damn heat has to be a factor. Sunday should be good day

You are spot on with your acorn comment. Our food plots are the best they’ve been in a decade or more, walk in the woods a little and the crunch will tell you where the deer are. This makes 3 straight years that we’ve been competing with massive mast production.

I hunt well North of you guys in Amite, Franklin and Pike County areas, but the MDWF breeding map shows our rut should over at the same time. It’s been so bloody hot and foggy, we’ve seen very little activity all week (unless you count the flocks of skeeters). Hoping the cooler weather next week will find them getting the itch.

Sorry, but I found Silver Creek, off Highway 84 in Lawrence County. I was thinking it was more west.

Lots of scrapes and rubs here in Natchez. Zero movement this morning. Afternoon hunt is screwed by the rain.

Might be the tract near mine. The listing agent wouldn't happen to have initials A.M. would he?

Buddy of mine hunts just south of Natchez. His BIL saw a damn fine buck yesterday morning at 7:05 that passed. He grunted a few times and killed it 10 minutes later. 125-130"

No sir, D.W. It's off of Hwy 43 about 5 miles south of New Hebron.

Not too far from me. I'm off of Ferguson Mill Road just north of the mill. Lots of good horns on my cameras there. Great area full of deer.
