I hunt in Woodville east of 61. We are seeing a good bit of activity with bucks cruising in daylight hours. It’s earlier than it has been in the past.

Also hunt E of 61 and N of Woodville. Thought about sitting tonight because I have time just to see if some rut activity is going on. Just worried that the mosquitos will take me away.

Several younger bucks seen in the last few days . I’d imagine it will be really good early next week when it cools off.

Im well southeast of you in st tammany parish and I hunt my backyard in a neighborhood backing up to woods and the local wma. The bucks were showing up in groups of 2-3 on cam at night a month ago. Now they are singles and just after dark and just before. Does are fleeing from them too so maybe its getting closer than normal

I hunt pike county, between mccomb and tylertown. I have not been since thanksgiving because of heat and rain. But i can tell you this, 2 days before thanksgiving i witnessed something i never have that early. Watched a young buck, and mature buck chase a doe all through the woods, and field, and her finally dropping down submitting to breed. Ive never in my life seen thay kind of action in november in south ms

I’m in same area as yeller. Between Mccomb and Tyler town right off of 98. Bucks still in pairs but scraping and moving around.

Walthall Co checking in. Bucks are still showing up in groups on cam but they're much closer to daylight and showing some pre-rut signs. Rut usually kicks in from Christmas to New Years around us so the buck activity seems about right.

I'm seeing community scrapes in Union Church. Bucks are moving right at dark the last week or so.

I did something I've never done before last Sunday.... I soaked a piece of rope in a bag of doe piss overnight and hung it in a thicket between a cutover and hardwood bottom. The pics I've received since Sunday night have been interesting to say the least. Several does and smaller bucks have been sniffing it a good bit. On top of that, a group of hogs are coming in several times a day to it and seem to be pretty pissed the rope is hanging from a limb stopping about 5' above grade.

I am going to give them hell this weekend. I just wish the forecast was better for Saturday. I need to get back at a decent time on Sunday, which looks to be the best day to hunt the rest of 2021.

Walthall County here also. Very little pre rut activity at my place. Bucks are traveling alone but really no rubs or scrapes like previous years yet.

I’m off 48 between McComb and Liberty. Seeing scrapes, bucks no longer in pairs. I’ll be out there this weekend in the heat.

When does rut typically start in Pike County? My FIL bought property in the Chatawa area a few months ago that I just started hunting. Was curious if it had already passed or not.

I hunt north of Woodville, east of 61 as well. Two of my three cameras haven’t seen a thing since thanksgiving. Very weird. One camera gets action every day multiple times. Only young bucks (singles)and tons of doe

All three cams are on food plots

Waaaayyyyy too many acorns in the woods the last month or so for them to be hitting the food plots. Find acorns and you will have deer.

Between port Gibson and Vicksburg. Bucks still hitting feeders but definitely cruising. I think closer but not there yet. I’ll be sweating in a stand tomorrow I can report more.
