There was a thread on here about similar hats to Tilley also coming in large sizes a while back and I haven't been able to find it searching. I am looking for lightweight for fishing and general outdoors sun protection and Academy off the shelf hats don't fit my big head.

Cleggs has some nice ones but they are little more pricey than Academy

Man get a Shelta.

I have a larger head (7 1/2-7 5/8) and the size L/XL fits perfectly.

Get a Shelta. They are pricey but a very good hat. They have 4 different styles and the brim of the hat won’t flop up when you are running down the lake. Love mine and may get a second.

Dick outdoors has your answer. They have a wide variety of hats that are a little more high end. I ended up with a Northface one. Really good selection of fishing shirts as well.

Check out T&H Marine Sun River hat ($45). I saw Mark Zona wearing on on a show with Hackney last week. Looks like a quality build lid.

Shelta was the other brand that came up before. Thanks everyone for the info!

7 7/8 here. The Shelta XXL is perfect. Best hat I've ever owned.

Heh - we had a family friend who worked for the Royals and the largest hat she could get (7 3/4 - the largest they stocked) was too small for me. My head is larger than anybody's on an entire MLB baseball team.

Tilley and Shelta are far above the competition but you pay for the quality.

I did not like my OR hat. The top mushroomed out and looked funny.
