So can any of y’all suggest a rifle in that price range with that quality of bluing and wood that shoots MOA? Cause I’ve worked up a lot of brownings (A bolts and x bolts) and NEVER had a problem getting them to shoot sub MOA. The medallion is a beautiful rifle for the price.
I guess what I’m saying is I find them to be well worth the money. And if one more of you fools say Bergara or Tika in the same sentence as Browning I’m gonna.......

It’s what I bought my son a decade ago in 7MM-08, and I really want to buy myself the exact gun. Looks and shoots so good

They are $2000 for one with timber.
Browning is half that but if you can afford it, get the Sako everytime.

I have a Medallion A-Bolt in 7mm WSM with a Leica scope. Initially it would not shoot a grouping better than 1.5”, but after removing the stock blots, applying Loctite, and torquing them down to specs, I was able to get the grouping down to .5” @ 100 yds. I had a custom recoil pad added which extended the pull 2” so I wouldn’t have to “chicken wing” when I shoot; and had the trigger pull modified (they’re non-adjustable) down to 2.5 pounds. I absolutely love the gun and it performs better than my ability shoot!

Under $1500 I'll always recommend a Tikka as first choice.
Listen to Carson, he deals them and knows. Mine shoots .6" groups with any ammo I put in it. Bolt is like butter. Wood stock is nice
Sorry for partying. Browning cant keep up these days.

are they really that bad,
my local Walmart has a couple for under $400 and I'm tempted.

It’s all relative bro. I killed two deer last year with a savage wal mart special I picked up for 199. Do I expect to pass it down to my grandkids? Of course not.
If it meets your needs and is comfortable for you, pick it up and forget about the camp fire Kardashians

Yes they are. They can be made to be great but it’s going to cost you. I bought 3 last year at Walmart but for $200 each.
This is the barrel out of the one I gave my son

Brand new and had not really been out of the box
I sent it off to be blue printed and timed. Completely rebuilt it and it’s now a .25 MOA gun.
ETA: they will shoot but not with the same accuracy that made them famous.
Also the bolt on all the new ones is timed incorrectly. When you get to 300-400 rounds (more or less depending on the caliber) you will start having issues with extraction.

Well, OK then.
A Ruger American isn't much more than $400, so that seems like a better way to go.

Had my BAR 270 since I was 17 in 1988. Never used anything since that time. Paid $695 at that time

$695 in 1988 is ~$1600 now
