What's the best ATV, around 500cc, on the market right now?

I've decided to buy myself a new ATV for a gift to myself for Army retirement. I'm looking for a 4x4, automatic, around 500cc. There are quit a few to choose from, so it's kinda overload to try and pick one over the other. So I come to the Outdoor Board for advice on the matter. What's the best 4x4, auto, around 500cc ATV on the market right now?

Honda is a great machine no doubt. I bought a Polaris 550 sportsman and love it. Bought it because on of my closest friends sells them.

Get a side by side.
ETA: I have a honda rancher now that is great, but my next atv will be a side by side.

Honda is probably the best built longest lasting machine, but I don't like their transmission. If you want a manual shift wheeler, buy Honda.
If you want someting with automatic, maybe Kawasaki? I have a Yamaha Kodi
and its an ok machine.

The answer to this question really depends on what you plan on doing with it and how much you intend to spend.
Moderately known for bent output shafts. Not a huge fan.

Suzuki King Quad. Very underrated imo.

I am partial to Honda's because that is all I have ever had. Still have a 1991 300 that runs like a top.

I just plan on doing some trail riding, a little mudding and riding it out to a deer stand. No hardcore riding or mudding. I don't want to spend more than $9-10K.

I know. I just can't decide if I want a Polaris, Can Am or Honda.

Honestly for the most part you can't go wrong with either of those. Atv manufactures of today are not like those of the past 15-20 years ago where it was Honda or nothing.

I can tell you that my polaris pull our blind that's built on a trailer out of it's ruts (it sits in a rice field).
It took three people to sit on the machine so the tires would spin but it pulled it out.
It's a really strong machine.
