Yeah, still kick myself. Probably the one chance to own a rifle like that even if all I did was hang it on the wall next to my bed...

funny story, about .50BMG's I was told.

My local gun store had a guy a couple Barrett's for him and bro-lo (yea I know wish he had another sister). He wanted the store to mount the scope and sight them in. The owner was trying to find somewhere to shoot them. One of the people that worked at the store they could shoot them at their place because the property backed up the Mississippi Levee. The owner quickly said "yea we definitely aren't using the levee as a backstop for a Barrett.

I would like a high grade, subgauge American made side by side shotgun. Something like a 16 gauge Lefever in a C grade. Something like this

That's where I would go, too. A really nice Parker, Levever or especially a Fox with a straight grip and splinter forend, either 16 or 20 gauge.
Although I wouldn't say no to a Merkel, either.

BAR is a good choice! Back when the military used rifles meant to tear a mother fricker to shreds

BAR

Father carried one through Italy, southern France and Germany. He weighed about 140 pounds.

While part of the American troops in Berlin after the surrender he was allowed to carry a WWI Spanish pistol in place of the BAR since they had to be armed at all times.

I have the pistol and holster. Should have gotten a BAR.

This is the correct answer, but it needs to come with a lifetime supply of ammo.

This would be my real answer.

Carried one for 4 years at the Citadel. I should buck up and buy one.

There are a lot better platforms out there, but to quote the Rifleman's Creed, This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine....
