Haven't fished saltwater much but caught some kind of orange fish in the grouper family down in Cancun that weighed like 22lbs.
freshwater was a 11.3 bass
and a 12.5 channel cat.

nothing world record shattering by any means.

I had a brief fight with a potential share a lunker (13+) on lake fork one time but she broke my stuff down pretty good and won the fight. She was a freakin whale.

For several years after Charlie passed, we fished with Capt. Dave Harralson. The "High Tech Redneck" once featured in La. Sportsman. I heard a long time ago he got in a lot of trouble over letting some guys fish over the limit and selling.

When I was at LSU, a bunch of us in the Forestry club went out for a day on Charlie's boat. He was a mean ole cuss. a guy lost a big amberjack and Charlie was unmerciful!. Good guy over all, though.
I talked to him years later just before he passed.

It was a yellow fin. Didn't weight it. Over 40, less than 70.

To this day, it's still the 60 or so lb. gar I caught about 20 years ago digging a crawfish crankbait into teh sandy banks of a local pond, now dead from construction runoff. Other than that, I caught a 47 lb. striper in the Chesapeake about 12 years ago.

I'm a bass fisherman, so I really stick mainly to fresh water. The fishing is a lot easier offshore, but the sunburn, gas money and general tossing and turning is just a pain in the arse to me.

Biggest Snook 39” last Spring.

Biggest Snook this Year 41”

Bucket List is 50”.

Biggest Tarpon caught from land. Caught one bigger from a boat in the late 90’s. No camera on board.

Biggest Amberjack from last year.

2nd largest King I’ve ever caught.

Largest King I’ve ever caught.

Both would have won King of the Beach tournament in Madeira Last Year. Will be entering this Summer.

ETA: pic load fail. Damn you Flickr.

Caught a yellowfin that was about 80lbs trolling out of Venice. We were trolling for Mahi but ended up getting hooked on a yellowfin.

If I remember correctly, my grouper weighed 130 lbs. It won 1st place that year in the Empire Southwest Pass rodeo.

Not sure how much they weighed, some of them had to be well over 50lbs but used to snag 3-4 foot spoonbills at a certain lock and dam.
