I went Tuna fishing while in Hawaii. Nothing huge, but bunch of 30-40lb yellowfin tunas. Before that, caught a 30lb Amberjack in the gulf of mexico.

I don't have any pics of it, but I was fishing a wreck 30 miles out of Boca Grande called Bayronto, and brought up a huge Goliath Grouper. I have no idea what it weighed, but it was EASILY over 300 lbs.

I've caught a lot of Goliaths over the years, but that was the biggest one I've ever gotten to the boat.

I think we need to mandate pics to confirm any and all alleged monster fish stories. Oh and they are coming. .

I posted my fish story above w/o evidence, but I agree. I kinda felt awkward posting about it and not having a pic.

We used to fish with Charlie Hardison’s folks in Fourchon before he died and after for several years before Katrina.
Had a big fish kitty and I had a 49 lb cobialinglemonfish. One of the ladies had a 49 1/4 lb snapper.
Pics are somewhere. Wish I could find them.

39lb catfish out of the pound behind the house.

Was sitting there watching my buddies fish off the pier. Grabbed a spool of 45lb test, of it on a hook, wrapped a few feet around my hand, put a while hot dog on the hook, and dropped it in the water.

Just trying to be an a-hole because I was tired of fishing. The second that hotdog hit the water, the damned fish took it. Shredded my hand. Couldn't let go.

Drug it up on to the bank.

Terrible terrible idea.

When I was 12, the river got really high and flooded the woods behind the levee - so we put trot lines in the woods with a little 10ft flatboat.

Next day we pulled out a catfish easily over 70lbs, fricker was about to flip the boat so my uncle goes ape shite on it with a hatchet.

No pics cause, believe it or not, there was a time when most of us didn't have a camera at our fingertips. It was a bloody mess anyway.
