I was very pleased with the number of deer we saw, considering that it was literally 85 degrees both days.

Very pleased also with the discipline and sportsmanship of the kids. 9 shots were fired and 8 deer were collected. And not a single yearling deer or spike in the group. Every one of them a mature deer. You don't get that kind of performance even with adults.

Average age of our hunters was 9 years old and they all did great. And they all got along and played well with each other. No drama. All smiles.

Well, that's hard to follow. I worked all weekend. But I did get some fishing in. Got home about 30 minutes ago and decided to walk to the coulee behind my house and drown some worms. Caught about a dozen of these little shits.

Took the kayak out in Irish Bayou. Kept 4 trout and threw back about 10. Lots of needlefish . There was almost no wind and it took us a while to find good moving water. All caught on Vudu shrimp 2 ' under a cork.

Those look like what we call Pond Perch. Those are perfect flathead catfish bait. You can catch them in a wire trap and sell them for about 25c apiece.

Big body 7pt. Certainly not a wallhanger but he will make some damn fine sausage and fries back straps. Only had 3 weeks to prep / scout since closing on the property so I'm just happy I saw a deer. Great job putting that hunt on NC. Some proud kids there!

Looks like a fun weekend for all of them. They'll have those great memories for a lifetime.

Like seeing the Mississippi kid in the OBJ jersey instead of an Eli one too!

That's awesome.

Fished Leeville, water still in the upper 70s, low 80s. Caught about 40 specks and a couple of reds, fishing Friday afternoon, twice Saturday, and about an hour this am, but it was slow, with tons of little trout. Seemed to be the consensus from those we spoke to.

Nice!!

2 dozen Dungeness crab for me. Add in a camping trip, 4 lingcod, 20 rockfish and a serious hangover.

on our lease 7 kids got a kill out of about 15 of us. My nephew included and my neice got her first deer. Me and my boy didnt get a shot but had a couple of encounters and helped recover a deer.

To say it was a great weekend is selling it short.
