This one was found in the lobby downtown and released into the wild.

Is that a water snake?

I've seen clearer pics of Big Foot.

Seriously, it looks like a diamond shaped head, WTF

Head appears triangular. Could be a poisonous Whitney Moccasin.

Not sure but i killed one of these in my yard yesterday. When the water gets high i'll usually see them.

Fwiw, I got the same treatment when I tried to cash a check at Whitney Bank with no sufficient funds.

Snake didn't have an account either.

Yea guys, the pic is blurry. Apparently the only security guard not afraid of snakes was the one who volunteered to handle him. Pic was taken from a ways back!

Looks like it might be a Yellow-Bellied Water snake, but my resident snake expert isn't around to confirm. I wish I could see its head/eyes.

Don't cottonmouths usually have more pattern on their bellies?

Their bellies usually are darker than that and banded but can vary. Water snakes can flatten their heads to appear to be cottonmouths. Best bet is if unsure dont mess with it

I agree that it appears to be a yellow bellied water snake. Definitely something in the nerodia genus. Harmless.

Thank, Y'all. After studying a few pics, I can see the resemblance now.

I always assumed downtown was snake-free. At least they are easy to spot here.

Where did he release it "into the wild"? Lafayette Square?

Yep and they can change the shape of their head to be triangular. I caught one about a week ago and was watching him change the shape of his head. And was playing with him knowing he wasn't poisonous but when he struck me it still scared me and made me jump.
