Looking at a couple semi-auto shotguns from Turkey. Specifically Dickinson and ATA Arms (EAA).

Any experience with these? I’ve read a lot of positive reviews of Turkish shotguns. But curious to get the OB’s experience.

I bought a backup duck guns few years ago. It’s a Weatherby Element made in Turkey and it looks very similar to a SBE2, which I also have. Mine is a 12 gauge, 28” and it shoots 2 3/4” and 3” in camo.

It’s a great gun for the money, about $550, through Grab-A-Gun.

I've got a Rock Island Arms 12ga... Solid and reliable. I keep the short bbl and stock on it for a home defense, not a fan of the pistol grip. Picked up from Smokey Mountain for a song, less than 200 shipped.

Edit: was made in Turkey for relevance.

CZ shotguns are made in Turkey by Huglu as well.

I don't have any but there are several here that have them and like them

I bought a 20 CZ redhead premier a few months ago and it’s been great so far. Wanted something I wasn’t afraid to scratch up a little bit. Clays and doves so far without a hiccup.

I don't own one, but I have been told by people who do own plenty, that the Turkish Shotguns are just fine.
Kind of surprised that Rock Island is contracting building them there, I thought they mainly built in the Philippines.

cousin of mine won a Tri-Star .410 at a recent turkey banquet.

That thing shoots lights out at 40yds. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they are Turkish made

Bought a 12 gauge tri-star pump a couple years ago as a back up gun and to use on some rougher terrain public land hunts. Cheapest gun I own. Since I bought it, it has done a lot of killing with zero problems, and I've put it through some hell.

Buddy brought a 12 ga Yildiz O/U the last time we shot clays. Looked great and performed like a champ.

I had a tristar for my son when he was first learning to shoot, had it for several years with no issues.
They can be great guns my only issue is what about long term if you choose to keep them for 25-75 years as family guns?!
Guns from the big gun companies (rem, browning, Winchester and others) will be around with parts and upgrades for generations.

I have a stoeger m3000, and a yildez over/under. I really like them both, especially at those prices.

I bought a Tri Star 20 ga O/U to use and abuse while tossing clays. Price was right and reviews were okay!

I have one I bought in 2005 from Academy. I love it and have killed everything from waterfowl, turkey to rabbits and even 1 deer with a slug. Dove and quail hunting was great.

I did notice this year after shooting probably hundreds to thousands of HP Steel-Waterfowl type loads in it, the wood has chipped right at the stock and just above where the firing pins are.

I guess it is retired now, at least from HP Waterfowl or Turkey shooting.

It has earned what I paid for it though.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I think I may buy both, cut one down to a 19-20” home defense shotgun (both are 28”). For $249/ea I figure I don’t have much to lose.
