If you get insurance on it you will have to register it. I bought one once and got insurance. About a year later it was stolen so I claimed it on insurance. Insurance paid for it but took out registration fees and back money owed for not registering it timely.

This number of total hunters would make the U.S. have the largest armed force on the planet! :usa:
re: Tuna charter recommendations?

I went with Voodoo a few years ago and the trip wasn't good bc it was a bad year for tuna. No charters were doing good. They charge for gas on top of charter fee and it was pricey. Going on July 10th with Paradise outfitters. Cost of trip is $2600 which includes gas but doesn't include tip which is 20% of charter fee. The cousin I'm going with has been with them several times and says they did good each time.

When is comes to firearms/ammo capabilities and recommendations, Google is not my friend. You can find plenty of people posting thoughts or posting videos that know nothing about the topic at hand.
Upgrade is correct in saying that bird shot/rabbit shot is a poor choice for self defense.
The diameter of the pattern at 10-12 yards (or at any distance beyond 12 yards, is dependent on the barrel choke.
Here are some links to some truly accredited gun experts, with their opinion of birdshot:

Very good information to post! I never said birdshot was the best but if that's what you have, with enough shots, it will work. My own HD shotgun is loaded with OO buckshot. Thanks for posting the great articles!

There is no rabbit that can take a blast from high brass 6 shot within 10 yards and it not exit. As I said, Google is your friend!

This is false. Beyond point blank range birdshot is not going to give definite stops. A heavy jacket can completely stop it.
Birdshot is for birds. Buckshot is for stopping a threat.
I'm willing to bet you that at 10-12 yards #6 shot will only have a spread of maybe 5 inches and will go through and through the wall of your home, unless brick. It will definitely take down a human. Try it if you don't believe me or use Google, it is your friend, and search it. Plenty of videos on YouTube to prove it.

You can find 20ga in 3" but mostly waterfowl loads. Regardless, in a room of your house,or even across 2 rooms, #6 shot and below will definitely incapacitate any human in one shot.

Thanks I saw those at CDNN. I bought my son one a few years ago but not one of the ones you mentioned. Another to look at would be Hatfield shotguns. You can get them with wood instead of synthetic stocks.

The Canik TP9SF One series is on sale at grabagun.com for $279. It comes with one mag and Warren sights. I have the original TP9SF and I love it. Trigger is great, reset very fast, and groups excellent.
