Only way I can see you keeping the KAK is if your length of pull is 11.5" or less with the brace extended to its furthest position.

That's with MBUS or standard sights only. No red dots. Brace must have original, non-modified strap. No other front end accessories.

And as someone else said, the ATF can declare any setup illegal if they should choose, even if you come in under 3 points per section.

#FtATF!

Edit: wtf is a "secondary grip - indicating 2 handed fire"? Could that be viewed as the front barrel shroud/hand guard/rail?

Edit 2: looking further into it, I believe having an adjustable rear stock will disqualify any AR pistol. In section 2, under Adjustability, you'll have had to add 2 points for having an adjustable or telescoping attachment. So you'll have 2 for a rear surface capable of shouldering, 2 for telescoping shouldering attachment and you can claim 0 for a cuff that goes completely around the arm if you have an SBA3 brace but you're now at 4 points on section 2 and weapon can't proceed to section 3.

This thread is hilarious. Bunch of guys trying to decide if the exact same functioning weapon is legal or illegal.

This is why I was excited about the EPA decision. Hoping dominoes start falling, but in this area, there is at least some actual legislation. I have not kept up close enough to have a handle on how far the ATF has strayed from the actual language.

If I am dancing around a felony I think I’ll cough up $200 and move on. That is assuming I have or had a pistol ar

Not changing anything. If I need an AR in a defense situation, I have a few normal rifles to pick from without having to use my pistols.

If they go this route, then you'll probably have to wait 5 years to get approval.

"sir, do you mind if we take a look around the rest of your house while we investigate this incident?"

:peaks into opened gun safe:

"what's this? a collapsible pistol brace. hehe... you're fricked buddy-boy."

If you have the KAK buffer, it will be further back. I believe the measurement is more like 13".

Actually, no. Flip-up sights add a point, but a red dot with unlimited eye relief is ok.

that's the kicker.
You can carefully study this form, and do everything to fall within allowed standards. And they can still just say "frick it, nope".

Bought a “basic bitch” buffer tube for my Anderson/Stern Defense 9mm AR pistol. I don’t feel like playing games with the ATF. Chances are low that I would get in trouble, but I don’t want feel like fighting the law alone on this if anything were to happen so I’ll just pack my Kak Blade and notched buffer tube in the closet until it’s safe to come back out.

lol. What's funny is 8f the ATF wants you, they got you. They will say you have the kak, and it's not on another gun so your intent is to put in on that one.

Apparently, the point system goes into effect next month.

According to an FFL I know, the AFT has already asked FFL's to use the point system to track AR pistols coming through. So if you ordered a fully built AR pistol within the last few months, there's a chance that the AFT knows about it and knows about you.

That said, if you are that concerned about it, just Form 1 your AR pistol, pay the $200, and make it a real SBR.

I'm not trying to decide anything. Just going thru the hypotheticals of this idiotic points system.

My decision is already made. I legally own the guns I already own and I dare anyone to tell me differently.

You should have watched some of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform Hearing today. They held a hearing on Examining the Practices and Profits of Gun Manufacturers. There were some real winners in the hearing.

One legislator wanted to know why a gun couldn't have a biometric lock because her phone had one.

Good lord, I just got one of these and have no clue if it’s legal or illegal at this point. Have angled foregrip, romeo 5 red dot, brace stock it came with with strap, and flip up iron sights
