Never have paid much attention to Dodge. Know the transmissions in them were shite for a few years. Anybody have good or bad info on them?

you'll need to replace the dash board, AC, transmission, and repaint the truck within two years

My FIL has drove nothing but Dodge for last 10-15 years. He is 6-7 years into this one with no problems, his brother has the same year model.

Great looking trucks. I would seriously consider a Laramie 4x4 crew if I was in the market.

No you won't. 10 years ago, I would agree, but that's not true anymore. I guarantee you won't be disappointed in what Ram (They aren't Dodge anymore) is putting out now.

ETA:let me clarify. They are still "Dodge", Chrysler just made Ram it's own brand.

Because they are so shitty they had to rebadge/rename the entire line of trucks

Right. Because ford diesels are the epitome of quality.

I always think Dodge makes the best looking, but worst quality trucks on the road. Would not buy one.

I was once told that a Dodge is a poor mans truck. From the look of them and the way they tear down so easy, I would tend to agree with that. My brother owned a Dodge and I can see why they would say that. They just look cheaply constructed.

Best diesel motors made. Ford's 6.7 is starting to challenge that but it just does not have the history that the 6.7 Cummins does. The new Ram interiors are much improved and rival anything on the road. The transmissions are much improved and far less problems than in the past. The rust issues stem from '90s model trucks and salt. It was so bad that the joke has stuck around for this long but the problem is long gone. Same metal and panels that GM and Ford uses.

I know lots of people with lots of miles on theirs. I know people that have had problems with theirs but I also know people that have had problems with their (wait for it) Fords. One of the best mechanics that I know drives a new Ram 2500 diesel that he traded his F250 with the 6.4 in on. Said that he would much rather the Ram.

A lawn mower motor is better than the 6.0.

Y'all wanna know something interesting?

The 6.7 Cummins in the new Rams aren't Cummins at all- it's the 6.7 NEF (new engine family) motor from Iveco- now called FPT (Fiat Powertrain Technologies). Same as what is used in the Case IH Puma and mid-Magnum tractors- but branded as Cummins in the trucks.

I drove a 2012 2500 gaser(waste of money), and it sounded like a rattle can on the inside before 15k miles.
