I really like the look of the Nissan vans that are based on the Titan. Hate the guts of it but the outside looks sweet.

Sprinter is MB.
That's a damn good platform.

Search FPT Cummins, and the only results you get are marine diesel and tractor diesel information. Here is a link from Motor Trends from 2009 that's mentions one thing being kicked around at the time was switching from Cummins to FPT. (Not slapping cummins name on an FPT powerplant.)
LINK
Midway through the article there is a photo of a Ram diesel engine of that year. It is exactly like the motor used still, and they clearly note that it is a Cummins product.
In the article they discuss the downfall to switching, not relabeling, as you say they did.
ETA:Note the title of the article. It is: Will Dodge Dump the Cummins.

What neither one of us has mentioned is that the NEF project was done by Cummins and Iveco before Marchionne ever even thought about buying Chrysler- so in this case maybe we are both correct- the Cummins purists will say its theirs, but the tractor guys will say it's theirs.

Hell, I'm pretty sure we've got 2 threads going about the same thing.
I have some predictions:
GM will lose market share to Toyota (trucks)
Nissan will continue to lose market share (trucks)
Jaguar will return to suckage, quality-wise, as the TATA influence crushes the last bit of Ford out of them.

So, will this new diesel be game changer?

Ain't scared just stating fact

You've got me there. I do not know every company Cummins consulted with when developing the engine. I do know that it is not a Fiat engine. It is PLENTY enough Cummins to get their legacy of quality attatched to it.

And it changes enough on the tractor side so people say it's not a pickup truck engine.

If it's in a van, yes.

What do you know about the diesel going in the Jeeps? Haven't had any classes on them, but from what I've researched, they've been successful in Europe for years. Are they gonna go over better than the last time we tried to put a diesel in a jeep?
I'm going to bed. I've got to work tomorrow. Got to make sure my tech finishes putting the trans. in one of my salesman's Ford by lunch. (Seriously, we are putting a trans in a F-150 right now. Talk about irony.)

Not reading this whole thread
You can get one with a manual transmission
That's enough of an excuse to buy one IMO
The 6.7 cummins is the best of the new gen diesels IMO.
