People forget that things change.
Companies get better and improve or they die.
Dodge used to suck, but clearly they got better.
Ford diesels used to suck, but they have improved since they took their engine program in-house.

Range Rover defies this logic. They continue to suck, year after year. Only their "if you can fog a mirror, we will lease you one" lease program keeps them afloat.

I live in a trailer park and drive a van, my parents must be proud of the white trash son they raised.

Thank you. Most logical thing I've heard in this thread.

Well, considering that I actually work for the Fiat Group, what do you think?

NEF stands for New Engine Family, it's a FPT product, branded as Cummins in the trucks, Case IH in the red tractors, and FPT in the other applications.

BTW for the Auburn guy- a "Cummins" motor as you say hasn't been used in any Case IH or New Holland product since the switch to Tier IV. Everything started to switch over to FPT branded products starting at Tier III.

Stepped away to post in the F150 v Tundra circle jerk.

All you Ford boys need to get that overpriced dick out of your mouth and actually make remarks from a first hand point of view. I agree Ford makes a good truck, but hot damn, the hate for ANY other brand is ridiculous.

You sir can go get fornicated by a telephone pole. I clearly was arguing in favor of the Ram. If you didnt mean to respond to me, carry on.

There were a lot of "bad transmissions" replaced unnecessarily over the years. Don't know the number of inaccurate diagnoses, but I promise a great many could've gotten a new governor pressure solenoid and transducer, and been like new.

The transmission and wheels will probably fall off before you can get it off the lot.

So the 6.7 that is in the Ram trucks was not designed/developed by Cummins?

If you think that is the case, Fiat needs a new Italian Translator, because whoever is doing their manuals now is getting them wrong.
The 6.7 in the trucks now are the same 6.7's that were in the trucks in '07. That was loooong before Fiat ever entered the Chrysler picture.

Not sure why year it was but a lot of folks around here went dodge crazy at one point. One guy put 3 transmissions in his and another had noboroblems and a 3rd had one transmission replaced and I think some other issues. Been leery of them ever since.

If dodge or ram would come out with a van other than a sprinter, I'd get one.
