Pretty cool, but it looks like it combines the negatives of a boat (weight, motor maintenance) with the negatives of a kayak (1 person only, not good in waves).

I would go Solo Skiff. You could deck it out and still come under that $5,800 price tag. I am not sure what the Bote offers that a Solo Skiff doesn't.

Base Solo Skiff: $1,800
Motor: $1,200
PowerPole: $600
Trailer: $600
Additional accessories: $1,600

You're not getting a solo skiff up on a roof rack. It's 150 pounds and made of foam. It would get torn up.

That's insane. You can buy a SM1444 or SUV14 for that kind of money.

Those are sweet but SUV14s are close to $11k new right?

Probably but there are enough of them out there on the used market to keep the prices down.

I sold my KC and was thinking of getting a Bote SUP to use on side of the road when in Grand Isle and also to drop in City Park. Anyone fish off a SUP?

-Price
-If you're fishing solo, getting that 105 lb Bote up on the roof of your Jeep without banging up the board or the Jeep is going to be a pain in the arse.
-Taking the motor on and off everytime you load and unload

Does look like it would be a pretty fun little rig to fish out of though. If the price doesn't steer you away, then you could always get a kayak trailer and eliminate the difficulty of rooftop loading/unloading or having to take the motor on/off.

6 according to the website.

This was the only pic I took of the one at the expo. It was pretty sweet in person. But not $5800 sweet.

Looks like just the hull for that kind of price, but rigged out with a trailer is about $10k. That's still not bad for a brand new boat. I kinda like the looks of those boats.

Agreed. I just spent a little more than that total, and I think I got a better option for fishing, although I don't mind pulling a trailer, and I enjoy bringing someone with me most of the time.

Now, if I had a buncha cash to piss away, and I already bought all the other crap I could think of, sure, I'd pay that. But I'd get a trailer for it, too. I ain't loading that shite up on a jeep.

I have a hobe peddle I bought used and I have a paddle board I bought used. Neither one I use over a real boat. There are places and times I love them, but there's no way a solo skiff type boat will be preferred over a kayak or a real boat.

The only time a kayak or paddle board is nice is to go places you can't get to with a boat. Or for solo quick trips.

Dealing with a motor and all that other stuff on a solo skiff type of boat is like having all the negatives of a boat with none of the positives.

For one, do you really like to go by yourself that often?

I see solo skiffs used often for $2000-3000.

Nice Jeep! I have a Cargo Master rack on my 2 door Rubicon and getting kayaks on top is bad enough, I couldn’t imagine trying to get that thing up there

Another option is the livewatersports L2fish. Same concept and maybe cheaper. You can add an engine mount to it as well.

imajine that. I guess I’m in the right place then frickhead.

I’m a rather large guy so putting 105 over my head or should I say, sliding it up onto a rack ain’t that big of a deal. Hell, the oysters do more damage.

A boat doesn’t get me in where I fish but my kayak and SUP do. Problem for me is getting there. It’s a long-arse mile and a half paddle one way which isn’t so bad in the morning. It’s the coming back that absolutely burns after the larger boats have chopped the water up all morning. Added bonus is getting even further to try some new spots.

I do choose to fish alone a lot because I like to get away from all the bull shite. Just me, my thoughts, some tackle and a chest full of silver bullets. In my opinion, it just don’t get any better. If I want to fish out of a boat, I’ll buy the ice, beer, fuel and oil for one of my buddies and fish with them. Most of them like to bass fish though and I’m just not that into it.

I can afford this but I try to be frugal at the same time. so yeah, the price is what’s hanging me up. I’ll probably just continue to watch the videos for another 8 months until something just as good but cheaper comes along. That’s kind of my M.O.

I have had mine since January and have done both activities you mentioned. I bought the inflatable so I can keep it in my boat and so it stores easier while traveling. Taking it to the Bahama's next week. So far I love it.

I see solo skiffs all the time for $2000-3000. Sure they are on a trailer, but why not try one out on a trailer first then if you love it go bote?

Or get a peddle yak? 1.5 mile peddle is nothing
