8/10 strikes on a man from 30 is great!

Looking at the picture, the entrance to the restrooms sorta provides a “funnel” to shoot into.

Learning more about what he was shooting will tell us more about how exceptional his marksmanship is/was.

Glock 43, extremely impressive. G17 and while still good, a bit less surprising.

Kimber custom eclipse out to 75yds. shoot with to buddies and we always challenge each other with "impossible" shots. we find paper boring and not challenging enough. get out there and do it, you don't have to be a world champ or a gold medalist.

only advice is that the sidearm needs to fit you. the better it feels the easier it is.

We shoot as far as 100 yards pretty regularly. The only thing I can consistently make hits on a 12" plate with is a single six

On self defense handguns the front sight is much bigger than the target at that range. It's damn hard to do consistently.

If i had to do that with my 4.2" bbl 357, i'd cock to single action, hold on the neck and fire.
Time on the range, which i'm sure many will be doing, at 40, and that kentucky elevation will be filed into memory.

Extremely difficult under that kind of pressure. Was the perp on the ground for the last four?

Was it 40yd for certain or was that statement from someone who just guessed it like a lot of people guess ranges? Just curious because I didn’t see it anywhere else and just saw mentions of “distance”.
8-10 is impressive at any distance besides point blank range. 40 yd is a long distance indoors and the mall of louisiana in Baton Rouge food court is 39yd across the whole thing under glass according to HuntStand.
Dude had nerves of steel to take on a rifle with a Glock that’s for sure and just goes to show there is always a chance if you have a chance!!

It made it to the governor’s desk last year. Vetoed.

Do you guys think this was maybe an AR pistol? I saw pictures of a Dicks there? Maybe he was taking it in there for some reason in a case? This wasn't your typical CC type of situation?

The assumption it was conceal carry, I'm saying if it was 8/10 maybe it wasn't. I saw a picture of Dicks in a news story its possible he parked and walked through the mall or had lunch with an AR pistol in a case that he was taking to Dicks for something.

I really don't know. But it was Constitutional Carry not Conceal carry. I don't know the Indiana rules, maybe it wasn't fully "concealed" was my point.

I can promise you he wasn't taking an AR pistol to Dicks Sporting Goods. Dick's isn't much on AR's.

The cop said it was concealed pistol that the 22 yr old used at the press conference.

Taken from the thread this was taken from the OT:
LINK

Approximate locations of hero (near Blondie's Cookies) and scumbag (near restrooms)

Food court area looking towards restrooms

This gives a little better perspective of the situation.

Outstanding shooting under pressure.... easily 20/25 yds

The shooter couldn't have weighed 125 lbs soaking wet which makes it even more impressive

What's missing though is that the shooter was supposedly braced against a column or some other support like a wall I believe? Which none of that is shown in those photos at 30-40 yards? So that's either not correct or the distance?

There’s 3 in the middle of the court.

If he advanced towards the threat as is likely, he might well have used one for concealment/cover and as a rest as he fired.

That also cuts down the distance.

The guy did a phenomenal job, and obviously great shooting under pressure, but some posters act like it’s nearly impossible to hit anything with a pistol beyond 10 yards.
