Survival/Apocolyptic Gun of Choice

It's a slow day at work and our discussion turned to what gun would you choose for such a scenario. I said a .22 Magnum rifle - my reasoning is that in this part of the country it will take down about anything and ammo is lightweight/small, meaning can carry a lot.
Yall's take?

Oh I know lol. Just killing time at work. I'd prefer to carry a lot of ammo

The one in my hand that I have ammo for.
That said, I'd go with a 12 gauge shotgun. It's the most versitle- bird shot, buck shot and slugs. You can kill anything in North America and scare off Corn Pop just by racking it.

Yep, The CZ 512s in .22mag are my favorites, I just wish the 10 round magazines didn't cost so much for them.

Only 1, I would go with my previously owned Thompson Center TC/R .22 lr. Was a sad day on the red river losing that gun.

I'd like my .223 tac rifle. It's pretty versatile. I'd be worried with my .22 against humans because of lack of stopping power. I feel like I'd be one misplaced shot away from getting shot myself.

22 is the ultimate survival gun.

Honestly if we are in a apocalypse and could pick any weapon I think I would choose the IWI MTAR bullpup assault rifle. Being chambered in the incredibly common 5.56 NATO means ammo should never be a problem to find even better it can also fire .223cal no problem. It has a 13" barrel while only being 23" long will have plenty of accuracy while being able to easily store under a coat or inside a backpack. Also it is a measly 6.6lbs unloaded making it a super light weapon to be carrying all day. Obviously being an uncommon weapon being able to make repairs may be hard, but considering it's quality and military grade spec repairs most likely won't be needed for years of use. But I would not only carry a rifle in this situation, I would carry a polymer double stacked 9mm handgun at all times. Something such as a Glock or FN, the side arm is less specific and would probably just be changed out if any repairs are needed, but a 9mm Glock model would be a very good starting point based on reliability, weight, and ease of repair/replace due to how common they are.

I'd probably go with my Ruger GSR. Compact, all stainless, Mauser-type bolt action, feeds from AICS magazines of which I have about 10 in various capacities, and in .308 Win.

The 2 reasons that would make me choose a .22 mag over one of my .5.56 ARs, is the lower noise factor. I would be wanting to stay as quiet as possible, and also the lighter ammo. Yes, you give up a good bit of energy and distance, but well placed shots will still get the job done.

Probably a 10/22.
Not a glamorous choice, but a good one.

12 gauge shotgun and mp15-22
There's nothing in louisiana that can't be killed by a .22

It'd be hard for me to choose just one. It'd be between an AR chambered in 556 and a 9mm Glock. Ideally, I'd carry both.
